  • Publication number: 20200248592
Abstract: System and method of operating the system. The system having a heat pump cycle, a turbine cycle, a medium storage cycle and a water storage cycle. By way of the heat pump cycle, heat of a working fluid can be transferred to a thermal medium (M) for storing thermal energy. By way of the turbine cycle, heat of the thermal medium (M) can be transferred to a working fluid (F). In so doing electric energy can be converted into thermal energy or transferred from thermal energy into electric energy by operating either the heat pump cycle or the turbine cycle. The thermal coupling between the water storage cycle and the heat pump cycle is provided by a water-to-fluid heat exchanger and the thermal coupling between the water storage cycle and the turbine cycle is provided by a fluid-to-water heat exchanger. The water storage cycle additionally contains an air-cooled water-cooling unit that can be operated independent from the water-to-fluid heat exchanger.

  • Publication number: 20190121334
Abstract: A monitoring system can include a dashboard including a graphical user interface display space, and a digital twin validation system including a processor configured to perform operations. The operations can include rendering, in a graphical user interface display space, a first interactive graphical object characterizing a first input value indicative of a first oil and gas machine of a plurality of oil and gas industrial machines. The operations can also include receiving data characterizing user interaction with the first interactive graphical object and indicative of the first input value. The operations can further include determining, by a predictive model, data characterizing a characteristic property of a plurality of components of the first oil and gas machine over a first time period.

  • Patent number: 9957888
Abstract: A system and method for generating an exhaust syngas are disclosed. The system includes a mixing unit, a heat exchanger, and an engine. The mixing unit is configured to mix a hydrocarbon fuel, an oxidant, and water to generate a fuel mixture. The heat exchanger is coupled to the mixing unit and is configured to receive the fuel mixture from the mixing unit, evaporate the water by heating the fuel mixture using a hot fluid, and generate a heated fuel mixture. The engine is coupled to the heat exchanger and is configured to receive the heated fuel mixture from the heat exchanger and generate an exhaust syngas by partially combusting the heated fuel mixture.
