  • Patent number: 6981422
Abstract: A multi-tube differential pressure (Delta P) testing system for testing catalyst filled tubes of tube and shell type catalytic reactors has at least one mobile test unit for movement on the upper tube sheet of a catalytic reactor. An array of test probes is mounted to the mobile test unit and is selectively positionable in sealed gas pressure communicating engagement within the upper ends of selected reactor tubes. A pressure testing gas delivery system is interconnected with the test probes and selectively communicates pressurized gas to the testing tubes at a blow-down pressure or selected test pressure determined by restricted orifices.

  • Patent number: 6694802
Abstract: A multi-tube differential pressure testing system for testing catalyst filled tubes of tube and shell type catalytic reactors having an upper tube sheet and multiple catalyst tubes having upper ends thereof fixed to the upper tube sheet. The system has at least one mobile support device for selective positioning on the upper tube sheet of a catalytic reactor. A plurality of testing tubes are mounted to the mobile support device and are selectively positionable in sealed gas pressure communicating engagement with the upper ends of a plurality of reactor tubes. A pressure testing gas delivery system is interconnected with the testing tubes and is adapted for communicating pressurized gas at a selected test pressure to the testing tubes and into the reactor tubes being engaged thereby.

  • Publication number: 20020096897
Abstract: A handling mechanism for rolls of carpet having a tubular core about which the carpet is rolled includes a force-transmitting member in moveable relation with a pivot support. An expansion actuator is located on the force-transmitting member and is spaced from the pivot support and defines reaction surfaces. A plurality of expansion and gripping fingers are pivotally mounted to the pivot support and each have a core gripping element for gripping contact with the inner surface to the tubular core. The expansion and gripping fingers each have finger expansion actuation surfaces in contact with respective reaction surfaces of the expansion actuator member. Upon linear movement of the force transmitting member relative to said pivot support member by a pulling force the reaction surfaces of the expansion actuator member cause pivotal expansion of the expansion and gripping fingers for gripping the carpet core and permit the pulling force to move the carpet roll.

  • Publication number: 20010041117
Abstract: A catalyst loading system for utilizing catalyst from a bulk supply located adjacent but not on the upper tube sheet of a catalytic reactor and for mechanized measuring of multiple identical quantities of catalyst and for mechanized loading of catalyst pellets into the reaction tubes of the reactor to achieve even drop rate, compaction and outage of the reaction tubes. From the bulk supply, multi-compartment catalyst charging hoppers are individually filled in rapid and accurately measured fashion by mechanized filling equipment having a predetermined sequence of operation that ensures accuracy of volumetric catalyst measurement. The charging hoppers are used for delivery of measured volumes of catalyst of a reactor tube loading mechanism which may take the form of a mobile cart framework being selectively positionable relative to the upper tube sheet and reaction tubes of a catalytic reactor to be charged with catalyst pellets.

A pair of electronic vibrators are mounted to the cart framework and provide for support and vibratory movement of a vibratory tray having a catalyst feed hopper adapted to feed catalyst pellets to a plurality of generally parallel catalyst transfer troughs along which catalyst pellets are moved by vibration of the vibratory tray to a plurality of drop tubes. A compartmented hopper is fixed to the vibratory tray and controllably feeds catalyst pellets into respective catalyst transfer troughs.

  • Patent number: 5642939
Abstract: Apparatus and method for unloading a fine powder-like pulverulent material from bags and mixing it with a liquid carrier in preparation for its use, while at the same time minimizing the potential for liberation of the particulate into the environmental air. Very finely particulate or flour-like pulverulent material is transferred by dumping it into a hopper. The pulverulent material is then mixed with a liquid carrier by a venturi that is located within a valve controlled, pump energized liquid circulation conduit system having connection with a supply vessel to circulate the mixture within the circulation vessel and supply vessel and thereby maintain an efficient liquid/pulverulent mixture that it is readily available for use.

  • Patent number: 4995129
Abstract: A collapsible trailer/ramp assembly is provided which is formed by a pair of deck plates that are interconnected by a hinge along the longitudinal centerline of the deck. The downturned side and end edges of the plates and a plurality of longitudinal and transverse structural members provide the trailer or ramp structure with efficient structural integrity. These structural members also function to define a storage receptacle which is adapted to receive the drawbar structure, wheel assemblies, transverse structural bridge plates and locking pins of the trailer/ramp assembly. When the deck sections are folded the storage receptacle is completely closed to thereby prevent loss of any of the stored components of the trailer/ramp assembly. All of the component parts are assembled to the deck sections by means of manually insertible and removable pins so that tools and other equipment are not required for assembly and disassembly procedures.
