Patent number: 12104451Abstract: A tubular control conduit is disposed in a wellbore having a retractable segment and an abandonable segment, each having an inner bore. Upon retraction of the retractable segment an obstruction member is actuated to form a seal thereby preventing the flow of fluid past the obstruction member in the inner bore of the abandoned segment. Cement is then poured into the wellbore thereby covering the abandoned segment of the tubular control conduit.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 2019Date of Patent: October 1, 2024Assignee: HALLIBURTON ENERGY SERVICES, INC.Inventors: Manan Ravindra Mehta, Kalvin Bai, Preetham Halasinahally Ningegowda, Huili Shen, Abhay Raghunath Bodake, Ratish Kadam, Mukesh Bhaskar Kshirsagar, Mohan Gunasekaran, Wee Kiang Jeremy Lau, Fangzhou Zhou, Zun Kai Chiam, Mathusan Mahendran

Patent number: 12024955Abstract: A downhole tool for coupling an electrical connection in the wellbore comprising a locator sub and a receptacle sub. The locator sub can be conveyed into the wellbore with a workstring. The receptacle sub can be coupled to a lower completion with at least one downhole tool. Workstring manipulation can insert the locator sub into the receptacle sub to provide an electrical connection between a resilient connector on the locator sub and ring connector within the receptacle sub. A fluid source fluidically connected to the electrical connection can flush out trapped wellbore fluids via a fluid pathway. The electrical connection can electrically couple to a control system at surface to the at least one downhole tool.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 2022Date of Patent: July 2, 2024Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.Inventors: Mathusan Mahendran, Bryan Thomas Philpott

Publication number: 20240125230Abstract: Systems and methods of the present disclosure relate to control of a downhole tool via at least one radio isotope. The radio isotope(s) is pumped from the surface to contact an isotopic analyzer of the tool. The isotopic analyzer reads the isotope and directs the tool to perform a specific action(s) in the wellbore based on the type of isotope read by the analyzer.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 12, 2022Publication date: April 18, 2024Applicant: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.Inventors: Mohan Gunasekaran, Mathusan Mahendran

Patent number: 11319759Abstract: An openhole interval of a well may be sealed by deploying a liquified phase transformation material to the openhole interval and allowing it to harden. In at least one example, this may be performed in a single step of building and maintaining pressure. The pressure may rupture a membrane, to introduce a fluid into a chamber with a reactive material (e.g. powder) in a delivery chassis, whereupon the fluid may exothermically combine with the reactive material to liquify the solid phase transformation material. The same applied pressure may also deliver the liquified phase transformation material to a deployment chassis, which then distributes the liquified phase transformation material under pressure to the openhole interval of the well. Various delivery chassis, deployment chassis, and related compositions and methods are disclosed as well.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 2020Date of Patent: May 3, 2022Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.Inventors: Mathusan Mahendran, Luis Fernando Lemus Torres, Desiderio Naegele Rodrigues, Jr.
