  • Publication number: 20200391457
Abstract: A mold for a front curve of an ophthalmic lens includes an inner region having a non-rotationally symmetric shape, an outer region having a rotationally symmetric shape, and a continuous middle region between the inner region and the outer region. A first portion of the middle region is in contact with the inner region, defining a non-rotationally symmetric rim or edge of a front surface of the ophthalmic lens. A second portion of the middle region is in contact with the outer region and is rotationally symmetrical.
    Type: Application
    Filed: August 26, 2020
    Publication date: December 17, 2020

  • Publication number: 20050237482
Abstract: The invention provides a lens in which the lens periphery is controlled as to each of thickness differential and both the rate of change from thinner to thicker regions and the shape of the transition from thinner to thicker regions within each of the dual thin zones. The lens of the invention substantially reduces the time for the lens' auto-positioning. Additionally, the lenses of the invention maintain their on-eye orientation better as compared to conventionally stabilized lenses.

    Publication date: October 27, 2005
