  • Patent number: 8664601
Abstract: A system and a method for measuring the thickness of a layer of coating deposited on a substrate indirectly measures the thickness of the layer of coating on the substrate by measuring the thickness of layers of coating on a coating roller before and after the coating is transferred from the coating roller to the substrate. To measure the thickness of the layers of coating on the coating roller two sensors are used directed to respective layer on the coating roller. The sensors have IR radiators and IR detectors.

  • Publication number: 20040202808
Abstract: An extruded/blow moulded bottle, together with a process for producing the bottle. The bottle has a wall structure (10) comprising a layer (11) of foamed plastic material which is surrounded by outer, solid layers (12 and 13) of plastic of the same type as the plastic in the foamed layer (11). The material in the foamed layer (11) includes a rigid polymer component and a ductile polymer component in a mixing ratio of from 1:3 to 3:1, and in addition the foamed layer (11) constitutes at least 50% of the total weight of the bottle. The bottle is produced by a combined extrusion/blow moulding process in which granulate starting material including the two polymer components and a chemical CO2-generating blowing agent is melted and, under excess pressure, is forced through an annular nozzle during simultaneous expansion of the formed CO2 blisters. The formed, foamed hose is accommodated in a mould cavity and inflated with the aid of air at high pressure to the desired bottle configuration.

  • Patent number: 6361847
Abstract: The disclosure relates to printing ink-decorated packaging laminate for aseptic packages of the type which is produced in that a web of paper which has an outer coating of plastic is, for the purpose of sterilization, led through a bath of hydrogen peroxide prior to the reforming of the web into aseptic packages. The packaging laminate has a décor of water-based printing ink which is applied in the desired pattern on the outside of the outer plastic coating. For the purpose of protecting the water-based printing ink décor against attack from hydrogen peroxide in connection with the sterilization process, the packaging laminate is provided with an outer layer of water-based polyethylene or water-based acid-modified polyethylene which, by means of so-called dispersion coating, is applied on the printing ink-decorated outer plastic coating after, or in connection with the application of said printing ink décor.
