Abstract: The present invention is related to a method for retrieving contacts in a portable device being arranged to operatively communicate messages and being provided with: access to a memory arrangement comprising a plurality of contacts, each being associated with one or several contact addresses for enabling a user of the portable device to communicate messages with the contact in question; a presentation arrangement for presenting contacts; and at least one control unit for controlling the operation of the portable device. The portable is arranged to perform the method, which is characterized by the steps of: monitoring the number of messages that are communicated with the device for each contact in a set of contacts among said plurality of contacts; sorting said set of contacts with respect to the number of times each contact has been involved in the communication of a message; presenting the sorted set of contacts on the presentation arrangement.

Abstract: An interactive computing device comprises a display (2) includes fish-eye areas (4) and (6) for displaying information concerning a plurality of function items in the form of a list or table. The selection of an item results in an increase in the area of the display used to display the selected item, while leaving the area of the display used by non-selected items unchanged. The selection also results in the presentation within the increased area of the information provided in the list before the item was selected together with additional information pertaining to the selected item; and also results in the presentation within the increased fish-eye area of additional command options and related screen controls applicable only to selected items, rather than to the whole list or the activation of which causes the device to carry out the appropriate action.

Abstract: An interactive computing device is provided with a single step back navigation model. With the navigation model of the present invention only a single previous state that will be accessible with a BACK key or button on the device is remembered. This retains the ability for the user to be returned to the previous view in the original application when the chained task is completed.
