  • Publication number: 20230403462
Abstract: A method for providing data from a network camera performed in a processing unit of a portable device having a physical communication interface, whereby the portable device has been associated with the network camera. The method comprises: upon detecting a connection to a connected client device at the physical communication interface, establishing a connection to the associated network camera using association data that have been received from the associated network camera when the portable device became associated with the network camera; receiving data from the network camera via the established connection; and transmitting the received data to the connected client device. A portable device and a system of a portable device and a network camera are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11477459
Abstract: An image processing device, a camera and a method of encoding a sequence of video images into a single video stream with dynamic bitrate are provided. The sequence of video images is encoded into frames of a base layer of the single video stream using a base layer resolution and a base layer compression level. Video images of the sequence of video images corresponding to respective times before detecting an event trigger are encoded into a first set of frames of an extended layer of the single video stream. The event trigger is detected and upon detecting the event trigger, video images of the sequence of video images corresponding to respective times after detecting the event trigger are encoded into a second set of frames of the extended layer using a higher resolution than the base layer resolution or a lower compression level than the base layer compression level.

  • Patent number: 10341675
Abstract: A method of encoding digital video data corresponding to a sequence of input video frames is disclosed. The input video frames are encoded into a sequence of output video frames. The method comprises encoding a first input video frame in a first encoder instance using intra-frame encoding to produce a first intra-frame, decoding the first intra-frame to produce a first decoded frame, encoding the first decoded frame in a second encoder instance to produce a first output video frame. A digital video encoding system is also disclosed, as well as a camera comprising such a system, and a computer program product for performing the method.

  • Patent number: 8208480
Abstract: A network processing device, such as a router, is implemented in a thin form factor chassis that encloses a primary printed circuit board. The router chassis has elongated openings on its top surface that permit access to connectors mounted on the printed circuit board. The printed circuit board includes all of the necessary electronic components that operate to receive, process, and transmit information over the network.

  • Patent number: 7630301
Abstract: A line level selection unit is described that selects signals from a backplane. The line level selection unit has a clock that times egress time slots associated with an egress network line coupled to the egress channel. The egress channel has a primary protection group table that correlates the egress time slots to a protection group for each ingress signal used to fill the egress time slots. The protection group table has an output coupled to a channel select input of a first multiplexer. The first multiplexer has input values that reflect the status of each protection group for each ingress signal. The first multiplexer has an output coupled to a channel select input of a second multiplexer. The second multiplexer receives a plurality of inputs from a plurality of tables that indicate where an ingress signal may be found on the backplane.

  • Publication number: 20090259890
Abstract: A hardware health evaluation module is associated with a hardware module or device and employs a linked list of error records to continually evaluate the state of the hardware module to determine whether or not it is currently operating with or without errors. In the event that the health evaluation module determines that the hardware module is not operating in an error free manner, it detects and stores, for a specified period of time, an indication of the error and associates this detected error or errors with one or more of the error records. The error records are designed to provide assistance in diagnosing the cause of a hardware error.

  • Patent number: 7130276
Abstract: A network switch includes multiple interface cards and a backplane that interconnects the interface cards. The interface cards receive network traffic and perform time and line switching on the data. The network traffic can include a combination of time division multiplexed (TDM) data and network data (e.g., ATM cells, IP packets). In one embodiment, the channels that carry network traffic to the interface cards are pre-configured as either TDM channels or network channels. The channels are processed as appropriate for their respective types by the interface cards. Because both TDM and network traffic can be processed by a single interface card, the number of cards within the network switch can be reduced.
