  • Patent number: 4546236
Abstract: A sauna heating unit including electrical heating elements (17), which are surrounded by a casing (11) open at the top and at the bottom, elements (17) being regulatable and connectable and disconnectable through control elements (15,16) arranged on a control panel (14) on one side of the unit. The unit through brackets (19), are mountable on a wall. The sauna unit in a few steps can be changed to right-hand or left-hand versions and is constructed and supported so that the outer casing and the inner shield are practically unloaded, and heat transmitting connections can be avoided. Brackets (19) are detachably connectable to the upper and/or lower free end of the unit at alternative angles, parallel or approximately parallel to the sidewalls of the stone holder (13).

  • Patent number: 4384190
Abstract: A sauna heating unit has a pair of upstanding spaced casings together forming an inner and an outer air space. Electric heating elements are arranged in the inner air space and are controlled by an on-off switch and temperature control regulator located in a ventilated connection box positioned below the inner air space and shielded therefrom by a roof-shaped housing member. A control panel having a triangular box-shaped member with an upwardly facing top face protrudes outwardly from the upper part of the outer casing. An on-off and a temperature control knob are mounted on the upper surface of the face and are connected to the switch and regulator, respectively, by shafts extending obliquely downwardly through the control panel, outer air space and roof-shaped housing into the connection box, thereby making operation of the switch and adjustment of the temperature regulator convenient and easy.

  • Patent number: 4375590
Abstract: An electric sauna heating unit provided with electric heating elements arranged in a casing through which sauna room air flows to be heated has a temperature regulator including a transmitter, such as a thermostat bulb or thermistor, for sensing the temperature in the sauna room and a thermostat responsive thereto for connecting or disconnecting the heating elements in accordance with signals from the transmitter. The transmitter is mounted remotely from the heated air flow from the unit on an imperforate sidewall (preferably, the backwall) of the casing in spaced relationship thereto so as to be exposed only to the air flow in the sauna room and is located substantially horizontally and symmetrically relative to the center line of the unit and within the upper third of the height of the unit at a distance of 10-20 cm from the upper edge thereof. The transmitter is enclosed in a protective cover provided with air flow passages.

  • Patent number: 4296507
Abstract: The invention refers to a shield arranged at a distance above a sauna heating unit and attached to said unit by means of downwardly directed supporting members. The shield is arranged at an angle to the horizontal plane and its object is to guide the stream of hot air and possible steam generated when pouring water over the heated stones or similar in the sauna heating unit obliquely upwards, i.e. out in the sauna room towards the persons in the sauna room.
