  • Publication number: 20120174541
Abstract: The present invention relates to a separator and more specifically, but not exclusively, to a centrifugal separator for the cleaning of a gaseous fluid. A centrifugal separator is provided as comprising a housing defining an inner space, and a rotor assembly for imparting a rotary motion onto a mixture of substances to be separated. The rotor assembly is located in said inner space and is rotatable about an axis relative to the housing. The rotor assembly comprises an inlet for receiving said mixture of substances, an outlet from which said substances are ejected from the rotor assembly during use, and a flow path for providing fluid communication between the inlet and outlet, wherein the outlet is positioned more radially outward from said axis than the inlet.

  • Patent number: 7022163
Abstract: In a vehicle air is compressed for being used in the brake system of the vehicle, for instance. In the compressor, used for the compression, the air is contaminated with oil and solid particles. In order to be relieved from these particles, before the air is conveyed through a drying filter, the compressed is brought to rotation by means of a rotating member in a centrifugal separator. The rotating member may advantageously include a pile of conical separation discs forming flow passages between each other for the compressed air to be cleaned. By means of an efficient cleaning of the compressed air from particles the life time of the drying filter may be increased.

  • Patent number: 6571489
Abstract: For a single chamber air drier in a compressed air system on a vehicle the volume of dry regeneration air required to regenerate a desiccant in the air drier has to be determined. This can be accomplished in that data regarding system pressure, outdoor temperature and supplied air volume are continuously provided to a compute, which in relation to these parameters controls the supply of regeneration air to the air drier.

  • Publication number: 20020112366
Abstract: For a single chamber air drier (SD) in a compressed air system on a vehicle the volume of dry regeneration air required to regenerate a desiccant in the air drier has to be determined. This can be accomplished in that data regarding system pressure (p), outdoor temperature (T) and supplied air volume are continuously provided to a computer (ECU), which in relation to these parameters controls the supply of regeneration air to the air drier.
