Abstract: An electronic device includes a sensor for determining the position of an input member, such as a user's finger or stylus, for example, relative to a user interface of the device. Before the input member contacts the user interface, the sensor detects the horizontal and vertical positions of the input member and generates positional signals indicative of those positions. A controller at the device determines the horizontal and vertical positions of the input member based on the positional signals, and generates first and second feedback signals as a function of the detected horizontal and vertical positions to indicate the input member position relative to the user interface.

Abstract: A crosstalk suppression arrangement for a stereo audio system, wherein the stereo audio system comprises a left stereo channel and a right stereo channel, each comprising a driving circuit, an output impedance of the driving circuit comprising at least a first output impedance part, and a load impedance, and wherein the load impedances of the left and the right stereo channels are connected to a reference voltage via a common reference voltage impedance, the crosstalk suppression arrangement comprising: a crosstalk suppression impedance having an impedance value based on the reference voltage impedance, at least one of the load impedances and at least one of the output impedances, wherein the crosstalk suppression impedance is connected at one end to a point between the load impedance and the output impedance of the left stereo channel and at another end to a point between the load impedance and the output impedance of the right stereo channel.

Abstract: A method of handling an incoming call from a first communication device addressed to a second communication device, the first and second communication devices being operative in a communication network, wherein the second communication device or the communication network comprises an answering unit. The answering unit includes a privacy data unit comprising a privacy code message for bypassing the answering unit. The method comprises receiving, by means of the answering unit, the incoming call intended for and addressed to the second communication device. Furthermore, the method comprises determining whether also a code message is received by the answering unit. If so, the method comprises comparing the received code message with the privacy code message stored in the privacy data unit to determine whether the incoming call should bypass the answering unit and, thereby, be directly forwarded to the second communication device being addressed by the first communication device in the incoming call.

Abstract: A side-tone control unit for a telecommunication instrument is configured to include a side-tone amplifier having a transfer function selectively controlled in accordance with a set of amplifier parameters, and a side-tone controller, coupled to the side-tone amplifier, for selectively applying the set of amplifier parameters to the side-tone amplifier based on the detected energy of an uplink signal and the detected energy of a downlink signal. The side tone controller can select a particular set of amplifier parameters by indexing a table in accordance with quantized values of the detected uplink signal energy and the detected downlink signal energy.
