    Abstract: A substrate for magnetic disk comprises a ceramic support having a glaze layer formed on the surface which is to be coated with a magnetic recording material. The ceramic support may be made of alumina, and the glaze layer is made of a material having substantially the same expansion coefficient as that of the ceramic support. That material has a relatively high melting point.
