  • Patent number: 7152159
Abstract: In the present invention, the an electronic mail transmission terminal device encrypts an electronic mail and transmits the encrypted mail. An electronic mail server device, when the encrypted mail is received, transmits a reception notification mail, which notifies reception of the encrypted mail, to an electronic mail reception terminal device in which a receiver of the encrypted mail is stored. An electronic reception terminal device, when the reception notification mail is received from the electronic mail server device, indicates reception of the encrypted mail to the receiver, requests electronic mail server device to transmit the encrypted mail after performing personal authentication of the receiver. Further, the electronic reception terminal device decrypts the encrypted mail.

  • Patent number: 7111068
Abstract: A communication control apparatus detects a predetermined signal type in accordance with SMTP protocol from a first interface section connected to an IFAX. The communication control apparatus controls communication with the IFAX in accordance with the SMTP protocol when the predetermined signal type is detected. On the other hand, the communication control apparatus controls communication with a server via a second interface section connected to a network, to which the IFAX is connected. The network is managed by the server. The communication control apparatus receives email data from the IFAX, converts it into HTML data, and transmits the HTML data to the server. Accordingly, the communication control apparatus is capable of enabling the IFAX to operate on the network managed by a HTTP protocol.

  • Publication number: 20020039419
Abstract: An encrypting device is provided that ensures confidentiality of an email transmitted from an Internet facsimile machine (IFAX), without any additional components or construction added to an existing IFAX. A signal type detecting section detects a type of a signal received through an interface section connected to an IFAX. When a predetermined signal type is detected, a mail data communication section receives email data. Then, after an encrypting section encrypts the received email data, the mail data communication section transmits the encrypted email data through an interface section connected to a network.
