  • Publication number: 20150377118
Abstract: The object of the invention is to suppress the generation or accumulation of deposits in a compressor of a turbocharger of an engine provided with a blowby gas recirculation device. The invention relates to a cooling device for the turbocharger (60) of the engine (10) provided with the blowby gas recirculation device (50). The cooling device has a cooled air introduction passage (70). The blowby gas recirculation device introduces a blowby gas to an area upstream of the compressor. The cooled air introduction passage introduces a cooled air to a diffuser passage (64) of the compressor. The cooled air introduction passage introduces the cooled air to the diffuser passage in a direction having an acute angle with respect to a flow direction (IA) of the intake air flowing through the diffuser passage.

  • Publication number: 20140326225
Abstract: A supercharged internal combustion engine of the present invention is provided with a turbocharger (18) having a compressor (18b) in an air intake passage (24), a communication passage (52) connected between an upstream-side portion of the air intake passage (24) on the upstream side of a compressor impeller (18b3) and an internal space (90) of the internal combustion engine (10), and an oil supply apparatus (96, 98, 100) that supplies oil to an internal passage in the compressor (18) through which intake air flows. When a deposit buildup operation condition under which there is a concern of a buildup of a deposit in the compressor (18) is met, the oil supply apparatus (96, 98, 100) increases the amount of oil supplied to the internal passage compared with the amount of oil supplied when the deposit buildup operation condition is not met.

  • Patent number: 4669263
Abstract: In the arrangement of a high-speed generator having its rotor shaft direct-coupled to the main shaft of a gas turbine engine, the upper space of a oil tank fixed to the generator communicates to a cavity formed between the high-speed generator and the air intake of the gas turbine engine, aside from the normal oil return path; and the cavity is open to the atmosphere through the upper space of the oil tank, thereby eliminating any difference in pressure between the cavity and the inside of the high-speed generator. With elimination of any pressure differences, the development of air flow at a tiny gap between the rotor and the stator of the high-speed generator can be avoided, resulting in successful prevention of oil leakage from the rotor bearing into the tiny gap and no drop in the efficiency of the high-speed generator.

  • Patent number: 4384682
Abstract: A rotary type electrostatic spray painting device is comprised of a housing and a rotary shaft. The housing has an end plate having a circular hole, and the rotary shaft has a front end which passes through the circular hole. The diameter of the front end of the rotary shaft is slightly smaller than that of the circular hole thereby permitting air to pass therebetween. A spray head is fixed onto the tip of the front end of the rotary shaft at a distance from the end plate. Paint is fed onto the cup shaped inner wall of the spray head. The rotary shaft is supported by a single thrust air bearing and a pair of radial air bearings which are arranged near the rotary shaft at a hollow portion thereof. An electrode, continuously contacts the rear end of the rotary shaft to electrically connect a negative high voltage at the housing of the device to the spray head via the rotary shaft.
