  • Patent number: 10397186
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to network security software cooperatively configured on plural nodes to authenticate and authorize devices, applications, users, and data protocol in network communications by exchanging nonpublic identification codes, application identifiers, and data type identifiers via pre-established communication pathways and comparing against pre-established values to provide authorized communication and prevent compromised nodes from spreading malware to other nodes.

  • Patent number: 10390738
Abstract: Various patient monitoring systems can include a sensor configured to collect three dimensional information. The systems can identify a location of a patient support surface based on the three dimensional information. The systems can set a two dimensional planar threshold based on the patient support surface. The systems can identify a patient location above the patient support surface based on the three dimensional information and compare the patient location to the two dimensional planar threshold. Exceeding the threshold can be indicative of a high risk of a patient fall. An alert can be generated based on the threshold being exceeded. The systems can repeat the identification of the patient support surface location and the setting of the threshold to account for changes in the patient area.

  • Patent number: 10382727
Abstract: Various embodiments concern a system for monitoring a patient in a bed, the system comprising a camera, a user interface comprising a screen, and a computing system. The computing system can be configured to monitor, with the camera, for motion within each of a plurality of zones, the plurality of zones comprising a one or more inner zones extending adjacent along the bed, one or more outer zones extending adjacent along the one or more inner zones, and one or more end zones. Motion within the inner zones can trigger a fall alert while motion within the outer or end zones can suspend one or more functions to prevent the fall alert from being issued. The end zones can comprise a bottom zone and one or more top zones.

  • Patent number: 10191303
Abstract: Bimodulus multifocal ophthalmic lenses for correcting presbyopia include an inner optic portion characterized by a rigidity greater than a rigidity of an outer peripheral portion. When applied to an eye, the ophthalmic lenses are configured to provide one or more lenticular volumes between the posterior surface of the lens and the cornea. The ophthalmic lenses are further characterized by features on a surface of the lens for improving multifocal visual acuity. The disclosure further relates to methods of correcting presbyopia using the ophthalmic lenses.

  • Publication number: 20180321511
Abstract: Ophthalmic lenses for correcting refractive error of an eye are disclosed. Ophthalmic lenses include an inner optic portion having a scaffold between an anterior portion and a posterior portion. The scaffold is characterized by a substantially uniform thickness formed from a material characterized by a modulus that his higher than the modulus of the peripheral portion. Openings within the scaffold are filled with a low modulus material. When applied to an eye, the lenses are configured to provide one or more lenticular volumes between the posterior surface of the lens and the cornea. The disclosure further relates to methods of correcting refractive errors of an eye such as astigmatism or spherical aberration using the ophthalmic lenses.
