  • Patent number: 12193355
Abstract: An agricultural machine includes a seeding system having a seed transport mechanism configured to transport a seed along a transport route, a seed sensor configured to sense presence of the seed at a first location along the transport route, and a motor configured to drive movement of the seed transport mechanism to transport the seed from the first location to a second location in which the seed is released from the seed transport mechanism. A processing system is configured to track a position of the seed along the transport route based on an indication of the sensed presence of the seed at the first location and detected movement of the seed transport mechanism, and generate a motor operating parameter based on the tracked position of the seed and a target parameter for releasing the seed. The motor of the seeding system is operated based on the motor operating parameter.

  • Patent number: 12082521
Abstract: A first source of an electromagnetic signal is configured to illuminate or radiate the evaluation channel through which a series of particular seeds pass. For example, the electromagnetic signal comprises a pulse with at a primary reference phase and primary reference magnitude. A first receiver of the electromagnetic signal comprises a detector to determine or identify a first seed-related characteristic (e.g., first seed characteristic) based on an observed primary phase and an observed primary magnitude. • Publication number: 20220346299
Abstract: Agricultural machines and implements have a need to adapt to changing environments. A closing system for an agricultural machine has a need to adapt to changing ground surface. The closing system includes a closing device pivotably connected to the agricultural machine, a passive mechanical element that is operable to apply an initial amount force to the closing device, and an actuator that is operable to apply an actuator force to the passive mechanical element to increase the amount of force that the passive mechanical element applies to the closing device. The actuator can be a linear actuator having an adjustable stroke length to vary the amount of actuator force applied to the passive mechanical element. The passive mechanical element is operable to absorb a shock force as the closing device traverses a ground surface. The passive mechanical element includes one or more springs adjacent the actuator.

  • Patent number: 10660256
Abstract: A towed agricultural machine includes a converter, configured to convert a first voltage potential generated by a generator to a second voltage potential. The second voltage potential powers a component of the towed agricultural machine. Further, the towed agricultural machine also includes a switch that senses the absence of the second voltage potential from the converter and switches to powering the subcomponent with a second voltage potential received from a source external to the towed agricultural machine. The second voltage potential output by the converter can also be combined, on a power bus, with the second voltage potential from the external source or another source.
