  • Patent number: 5863262
Abstract: A golf putter head having a continuous face comprised of a curved section leading into a hemi-toroid section with an increasingly flattened surface progressively leading into a negative angle of from about 2.degree. to 10.degree. from a vertical face. The head is configured to present the curved section relative to a golf ball when the head is positioned below an equator of the ball, and to present a flattened surface at each angle that the putter head contacts the ball. Accidental hop is prevented and the ball is struck true at every incident point of contact between the putter head and the ball.

  • Patent number: 5718644
Abstract: An insert member for a golf putter, with one face of the insert being adapted to fittingly engage the putting face of a head of the golf putter by means of adhesive, mechanical fasteners, or other fastening means, including by frictional fit, when the insert is fitted within a cutout on the face of the putter. The other face of the insert, which is thereby situated in a putting position for engagement with a golf ball, comprises a regular, elongated curved surface such as an arc section of a cylinder. The elongated curved surface is longitudinally positioned in alignment with a longitudinal axis of the putter head and is preferably of a dimension and position for putting engagement with a golf ball below the equator of the ball. If desired, for whatever purpose, such as for generating top-spin or minimized spin, the vertical position of the curved surface, may be adjusted on the face of the putter head, particularly with an adhesive fitting on a flat putter head face surface.

  • Patent number: 5501461
Abstract: A golf putter head having a body of a cylindrical shape with a convex ball contacting surface. The putter body generally has internal, tiered, cylindrical cavities, of varying diameters, extending equally outward from the center of mass, along the central axis of the putter head. The cavities are filled with weighing elements inserted into each of the two ends of the putter head. A groove aligned with the center is provided on the top surface of the putter head. The groove is filled with a highly visible indicator to facilitate the alignment of the center of the putter head face with the golf ball. End caps are inserted over the weighing elements in each end. The putter head provides a mounting hole in the top of the head, offset from center toward the heel and along the central axis of the head, for shafting.
