  • Publication number: 20100202451
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that promote asynchronous communication through customized Internet protocol headers. This asynchronous communication is promoted by encoding additional information into the header of at least one data packet. The formatting and content of the packet header may be determined through an application programming interface (API). In addition, the header of this data packet may be of a variable length. The length of the data packet may be dependent upon the requirements of the API. In some embodiments, the header comprises sufficient information that, when interpreted by the API, promotes asynchronous communication.

  • Publication number: 20100142538
Abstract: A router receives data packets from a remote M2M device and routes all or a portion of the data to one or more servers for further processing. Routing is determined based on the application layer data (data or data type) within the packet. For example, in a GPS tracking device, the data packet (or certain data within the packet) is routed to a first server when the data is of a first type or according to specific rule governing routing based upon some attribute.

  • Publication number: 20100099432
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed that include provisioning a target device coupled to a wireless network. These systems and methods include a provisioning server coupled to the wireless network and a target update coupled to the provisioning server. The provisioning server includes instructions relating to the configuration of the target device. In addition, these systems and methods include a server coupled to the target update and a provisioning user interface coupled to the server that is operable to create parameters for a software update and transmit the parameters to the server. The server is operable to communicate the parameters to create the target update, and the target update is transmitted through the provisioning server and the wireless network to the target device.

  • Publication number: 20100100876
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for provisioning a position monitoring device. The position monitoring device may include a wireless communication modem and a first serial port. A provisioning device may be coupled to the position monitoring device through a serial connection. The provisioning device can include a memory, a second serial port, and a processor. In some embodiments, the provisioning device initiates an automatic configuration of the wireless communication modem through a series of attention commands.
