Patent number: 12098298Abstract: A method of sealing surface imperfections on a sanded surface of a repair to a vehicle body is provided that includes an uncured layer of a formulation being applied to sanded cured body filler on the vehicle body. The formulation includes a polyester resin, a crosslinking agent, a solvent, and a particulate filler. The uncured layer is exposed to actinic radiation to induce cure of the uncured layer to form a sealing coating. The resulting seal coating has able to seal surface imperfections. A surface imperfection sealing formulation is also provided that includes a polyester resin and a multifunctional crosslinking agent. A solvent is provided. A photoinitiator renders the formulation curable upon exposure to ultraviolet light exposure. A particulate filler is also present in an amount to result in a formulation with an uncured viscosity of between 2600 and 3000 centipoises.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 2021Date of Patent: September 24, 2024Assignee: Illinois Tool Works Inc.Inventors: Mehdi Habibpour, Matt James Lertola, Grant Shouldice

Patent number: 10683734Abstract: Dissolvable casing liners are utilized to isolate existing perforations. A dissolvable casing liner is deployed downhole along the interior of a casing string having a plurality of perforations. The casing liner is then secured against the casing string, thereby effectively sealing the perforations. Once the perforations are isolated, refracturing operations may be conducted. At some time thereafter, the casing liner is dissolved and removed from the wellbore.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2016Date of Patent: June 16, 2020Assignee: HALLIBURTON ENERGY SERVICES, INC.Inventors: Matt James Merron, Kyle Wayne Davis

Publication number: 20200061878Abstract: A molding apparatus includes a plurality of deep-draw compression molds. Each of the molds includes a mold cavity and an associated mold core. A rotating support structure operatively supports the mold cavities and the mold cores relative to each other. The molds open and close as they travel around a closed path defined by the support structure. A mold material discharge mechanism deposits a predetermined amount of mold material in each of the molds. A heat source superheats the molds, and a mold closing mechanism closes the superheated molds, compressing the mold material between the mold cavities and the mold cores to form a deep-draw component A coolant source rapidly and actively cools the molds, and a mold opening mechanism opens the cooled molds. An ejector is disposed to eject the deep draw components from the molds. A method of molding deep-draw components is also disclosed. The system and method of the present invention facilitate compression molding of deep-draw components.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 3, 2019Publication date: February 27, 2020Inventor: Matt James Lofgren
