  • Publication number: 20190071122
Abstract: A drive assembly for a walk-behind, powered device operably couples an engine of the powered device to a mobility assembly to provide mobility of the powered device responsive at least in part to operation of the engine. The drive assembly includes a transmission shaft and a short turning assembly. The transmission shaft selectively receives drive power operably coupled from the engine to drive a first drivable component and a second drivable component of the mobility assembly. The first and second drivable components are disposed substantially at opposite sides of the powered device. The short turning assembly is configured to cause both disengagement of drive power and activation of braking to the first drivable component while drive power is provided to the second drivable component.

  • Patent number: 10157307
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes capturing one or more images of a physical environment surrounding the first user; determining that one or more of the images comprises a face; generating a facial image by cropping a region of the image comprising the face; sending instructions to perform facial recognition on the facial image; receiving a name associated with a second user of the online social network, wherein the face is associated with the second user, wherein the first user is represented by a first node on a social graph maintained by the social-networking system and the second user is represented by a second node on the social graph, and the first node and the second node are connected by at least one edge; and providing an audible indication of the name associated with the second user.

  • Patent number: 9316148
Abstract: A turbocharger assembly is disclosed with a connected lever. An actuator may be spaced away from the lever. An arm may extend from the actuator and may be connected to the lever by a preloaded joint. The joint may include a pin fixed to the lever or the arm. An opening may be provided in the lever or the arm to which the pin is not fixed. The pin may have a shaped section that matches the shape of the opening to provide selected degrees of freedom. A spring element may be engaged in the groove and may apply a force to the pin compensating for wear between the pin and the mating surface by pulling the pin into the opening under the force.

  • Publication number: 20100161776
Abstract: Disclosed are a method and a computer program product for providing required software to at least one computing apparatus in a distributed computer network. The at least one computing apparatus is communicably coupled to at least one interfacing node of the distributed computer network. The method for providing the required software includes initiating a connection between the at least one interfacing node and a remote web server communicably coupled to the at least one interfacing node. The method further includes providing an address identifier data of the at least one computing apparatus to the at least one interfacing node. Furthermore, the method includes establishing a communication channel between the remote web server and the at least one computing apparatus through the at least one interfacing node. Moreover, the method includes receiving the required software at the at least one computing apparatus by utilizing the communication channel.

  • Publication number: 20070130313
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for managing requests for service over a communications network. The method of the invention comprises the steps of: receiving a request for service from a customer terminal at a queue server via the communications network; allocating a queue identifier to the request for service; sending the queue identifier to the customer terminal; receiving the queue identifier from the customer terminal at the queue server as part of a subsequent request for service; performing a comparison between the queue identifier and queue status information; and forwarding the request for service to the service host in accordance with the result of the comparison. Preferably, if sufficient resources are available, the request for service is forwarded directly to the service host without entering a queue. If there are insufficient resources, the request for service is held in an automatically managed queue and the risk of catastrophic failure is eliminated.

  • Patent number: 6701272
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for obtaining throttle settings of a system, such as a chipset. A first bandwidth may be applied to a first area (or interface) of the system and a temperature of the first area may be sensed using a thermal sensor. The bandwidth passing through this first area may be increased or decreased based on the sensed temperature to obtain an ideal or optimized setting.
