  • Publication number: 20160020059
Abstract: In a device for generating X-rays or electron beams the cathode of the device is mounted on a ceramic insulator which becomes hot during operation, and the ceramic insulator is cooled by a fluid coolant flowing around the outside of the insulator at the remote end of the insulator, away from the cathode. The coolant conduit can be formed by flange rings, soldered directly on to the surface of the insulator, and the conduit may be shaped such that the coolant is in direct contact with the insulator. A method for manufacturing the de ice is also described.

  • Patent number: 9101533
Abstract: A needle safety guard device adapted to attach to a liquid container is provided. The device includes a disk-shaped shield having a medial opening connected with a radial opening between two radial edges. The device also includes a substantially U-shaped holder having two sidewalls coupled substantially perpendicular to the disk-shaped shield along the two radial edges, and a top cover connecting to the two sidewalls and extending from the shield above the radial opening. The U-shaped holder includes a wedged protrusion and a curved protrusion extending from each of the two sidewalls, the curved protrusion being between the top cover and the wedged protrusion for blocking a cap of the liquid container from moving toward the medial opening.

  • Publication number: 20080317556
Abstract: A pier system (10) for at least partially supporting a-building broadly comprises a plurality of swaged pier segments (12) having a length, wherein each swaged pier segment (12) is operable to be connected to another of the swaged pier segments (12); a hinged lifting platform (14) operable to be secured to an uppermost one of the swaged pier segments (12?); at least one intermediate swaged pier segment (16) having a length, said length of the intermediate swaged pier segment (16) being different than the length of the swaged pier segment (12), said intermediate swaged pier segment (16) operable to be connected to the uppermost swaged pier segment (12?); and an encasement (22) for at least partial receipt of the at least one intermediate swaged pier segment (16).

  • Patent number: 7429149
Abstract: The invention is a sleeved, segmented support product for supporting a foundation, for example a building foundation. The product comprises support segments that can assemble together into a variable-length pile. The segments assemble together telescopically so that adjacent segments are held in coaxial relation and resist radial misalignment and other misalignments that can reduce a load-bearing capacity of the support product.
