    Abstract: An air conditioning disconnect switch utilizes a ramped movable contact arrangement for slidably opening and closing the switch contacts without the requirement of a removable type pull-out handle. A plastic face plate covering the switch terminals allows the use of a metallic case of reduced depth. The slidable contact arrangement eliminates the bumped cover projection otherwise required with the pull-out handle.
