  • Publication number: 20070217763
Abstract: A surveillance system having a plurality of MPEG compressed data streams each originating from a separate video/audio source. The data is stored on hard disk and streamed to tape in real time. The data is partitioned on the tape into about ten partitions, each partition including a plurality of data blocks, each data block including synchronized frames from each stream, a stream map, telemetry information, roster information, and tape positioning data. Each partition includes a duplicate stream map and a duplicate partition directory, and each block within the partition includes duplicate telemetry information. Set marks readable in fast forward or rewind mode are placed every second on the tape in a position just before the duplicate telemetry, and a file mark is placed just before the duplication partition directory. The tape cassette includes an EEPROM which holds a duplicate partition directory. The originating disk also includes a duplicate partition directory.

  • Publication number: 20070217501
Abstract: A video surveillance system in which the compressed video is written to a digital tape cassette. The tape cassette includes an EEPROM, which holds directory information relating to the location of particular video on the tape, the identity of the tape, the identity of the video, and other key information relating to the video. The directory on the EEPROM permits rapid access to the video and redundancy of key data. In case of tape error, the tape automatically restores itself when inserted into the tape deck.

  • Publication number: 20070118860
Abstract: A mobile video advertisement delivery system comprising: a vehicle locator system, a video advertisement storage system, a processor communicating with the vehicle locator system for determining a suitable time or place to display an advertisement, and a display communicating with the processor for displaying the advertisement at the suitable time or place. Preferably, the vehicle locator system includes a GPS system Preferably, the advertisement is stored at a location away from the vehicle and delivered via wireless or the advertisement may be stored on a storage medium, such as a hard disk, in the vehicle. Preferably, the system further includes a video surveillance system. Using the system, video advertisements maybe displayed on a public transportation vehicle, such as a bus, as the vehicle approaches an advertiser location.

  • Publication number: 20060274828
Abstract: A surveillance system having a plurality of MPEG compressed data streams each originating from a separate video/audio source. The data is stored on hard disk and streamed to tape in real time with time set markers readable independent of the compressed video signal. The data is partitioned on the tape, each partition including a plurality of data blocks, each data block including synchronized frames from each stream, a stream map, telemetry information, roster information and tape positioning data. Each partition includes a duplicate stream map and a duplicate partition directory, and each block within the partition includes duplicate telemetry information. Set marks readable in fast forward or rewind mode, are placed every second on the tape in a position just before the duplicate telemetry and a file mark is placed just before the duplication partition directory. The tape cassette includes an EEPROM, which holds a duplicate partition directory and redundant directory information useful for searching.

  • Publication number: 20060274829
Abstract: A surveillance system having a plurality of MPEG compressed data streams each originating from a separate video/audio source. The data is streamed onto a plurality of media of different type in real time. The plurality of media are selected from the group consisting of: a digital tape, a hard disk, a semiconductor memory, a CVD, a DVD, and an optical disk. The system generates directory information which is also stored on a plurality of different media.
