  • Patent number: 12083273
Abstract: A vacuum shield assembly intended for attachment to an existing medical mask for air suction, nebulization, BIPAP, and/or CPAP. The vacuum shield assembly generally comprises a shield body and a retaining assembly. The retaining assembly may attach the vacuum shield assembly to a vacuum tube of the existing mask, which may be connected to a negative pressure vacuum. The retaining assembly may also be attached to a nebulizer unit or component thereof, or to an oxygen supply tube of a BIPAP or CPAP mask. The shield body may comprise a lower segment, which may comprise a connecting component configured and dimensioned for attachment to, and for a fluid communication, with the retaining assembly. The shield body may be configured and dimensioned to correspond to the geometry of the existing mask. As an example, the shield body may comprise a substantially concave configuration with a substantially semi-ovoidal edge.

  • Patent number: 11957839
Abstract: An intubation assembly and shield configured to at least partially reduce the risk of contagion of airborne illnesses. The intubation assembly comprises an intubation apparatus assembly, which may comprise an intubation apparatus such as a laryngoscope, endoscope, bronchoscope, or other fiberoptic device. The intubation apparatus assembly may be operatively disposed on the shield assembly. The intubation apparatus may be placed on a correspondingly dimensioned sleeve. The shield assembly comprises a body with a plurality of side segments and a first transparent component with a shield opening disposed thereon. The shield opening may be used for insertion of the intubation apparatus assembly. The shield assembly may also comprise a second transparent component with at least one longitudinally disposed slot for insertion of an endotracheal tube or other intubation apparatus(es). The shield assembly may be provided with ports to attach a vacuum device to provide negative pressure.

  • Patent number: 11944174
Abstract: A unit of luggage configured to ascertain its own weight. The unit of luggage comprises a detection assembly with one sensor assembly disposed around each wheel. Each sensor assembly comprises a housing assembly and a shaft disposed therein. The sensor assembly comprises a sensor housing, a cylinder housing and a cylinder. A load cell sensor is generally disposed within the sensor housing and is operatively disposed adjacent to the shaft such that it may engage the sensor and cause an upward deflection that generates a stress indicative of the weight of the unit of luggage being transferred to the particular, corresponding wheel. The cylinder housing is disposed below the sensor housing and encloses the cylinder, which itself encloses the shaft. A frictional resistance between the shaft and the cylinder permits a controlled movement of the shaft therein and permits a processing unit to ascertain a corresponding weight reading.

  • Publication number: 20220257887
Abstract: An intubation assembly, shield assembly and related systems configured to at least partially reduce the risk of contagion from airborne illnesses. The shield assembly may be operatively connected to a vacuum system to exert a negative pressure and/or may be used as a standalone component as a barrier to reduce contamination of the local environment between therapies, treatments and/or procedures. The shield assembly may comprise ports to attach a vacuum device to provide negative pressure. An intubation apparatus assembly may be disposed on the shield assembly. The shield assembly comprises a body with a plurality of side segments and/or a transparent component(s) with a shield opening disposed thereon. The shield opening may be used for insertion of the intubation apparatus. The shield assembly may also comprise another transparent component with a longitudinally disposed slot(s) for insertion of an endotracheal tube or other intubation apparatus(es).
