  • Publication number: 20060162166
Abstract: An operating assembly comprises a support structure (9), a user-operable operating member (7) movable in at least one direction of movement (10, 11) relative to the support structure (9) between a plurality of positions supported by the support structure (9); an array (14) of catches (15) extending along the direction of movement (10, 11); and a clicking pawl (16) resiliently accommodated for consecutive engagement with and disengagement from consecutive ones of the catches (15) of the array (14) in response to a movement of the operating member (7) in the direction of movement (10, 11). At least the clicking pawl (16) or the array (14) of catches (15) is accommodated with clearance (32) in the direction of movement (10, 11). A device comprising such an operating assembly is also described.

  • Publication number: 20060117569
Abstract: A shaving apparatus has shaving heads (3) each having an internal cutting member (6) and an associated external cutting member (4); and a drive structure (1) coupled to each of the internal cutting members (6). The external cutting members (4) are each rotatable about an axis of rotation (15) between different shaving positions. The shaving face of each head includes a first shaving field (7) for cutting short hair and a second shaving field (8) for cutting long hair. The shaving fields (7, 8) extend through different segment of the shaving face. For effecting rotation of the external cutting members (4) between the shaving positions, a control member (11) is arranged between the shaving heads (3) and engages the external cutting members (4) of the shaving heads (3) for simultaneously controlling the rotation of the external cutting members (4) of the shaving heads (3).
