The first sliding sleeve is movable between an open position to permit fluid flow through the housing ports, and a closed position to obstruct the housing ports with the first sleeve. The second sliding sleeve has one or more metering orifices and can be actuated to a metering position to align the metering orifices with the one or more housing ports to permit fluid flow through the housing ports at a metered flow rate, and an inactive position where the second sleeve is clear of the housing ports. The first and second sleeves can be actuated to set the sleeve assembly to an open mode, a closed mode, or a metering mode.

    Abstract: A bottomhole assembly (BHA) having a shifting tool and housing for shifting an uphole-to-open sleeve of a sleeve of a shorter length downhole sleeve assembly to an open position, and optionally to a closed position. Sleeve-engaging elements of the BHA are coordinated to direct the sleeve-engaging elements into a tool-engaging profile of the sleeve, excluding other annular variations in the casing string. The BHA has an improved dual J-Mechanism situated between the shifting tool and housing to permit new additional shifting options which results in fewer overall shifting cycles of the BHA when used with the shift uphole-to-open, shorter-length sleeve assembly. The shortened sleeve assembly is incorporated into a casing string and is relatively short in length when compared with conventional sleeve assemblies.

A dome-forming material can be mixed with a catalyst to form a mixture, which can then be poured into a dome-shaped cavity of a die-cast mold. A peg may be inserted into the mixture in the dome-shaped cavity of the die-cast mold. The mixture may be allowed catalyze and harden in the dome-shaped cavity of the die-cast mold, then a molded dome may be removed from the dome-shaped cavity of the die-cast mold. A portion of the molded dome such as the peg may be inserted into a hole in a prepared substrate. The dome may also be prepared by grinding an outer top surface with a drilling attachment. The dome may instead be formed with the use of an insert and a mat template.
