  • Publication number: 20240077778
Abstract: Surface polarity of a ferroelectric nematic can be configured to generate vectorial control of the orientation of its bulk polarization field. The contact between a surface with in-plane polarity and a ferroelectric nematic liquid crystal generates preferred in-plane orientation of the ferroelectric polarization field at that interface, which can lead to the formation of fluid or glassy monodomains of high polarization without electric field poling.

  • Publication number: 20230093063
Abstract: Devices including nematic liquid crystal-forming molecules are disclosed. The molecules include one or more dipoles and exist in a ferroelectric nematic state. Exemplary devices can further include an electrode for applying an electric field in, for example, and in-plane direction.

  • Publication number: 20070073811
Abstract: Specific identification for identifying an individual and first record information associated with the specific identification are obtained. The specific identification is substituted with unique generic identification to disassociate the specific identification from the record information. The unique generic identification and the first record information are forwarded. The unique generic identification is received. The unique generic identification is substituted with the specific identification.

  • Patent number: 7127432
Abstract: A method for processing transactions while maintaining a customer's confidentiality includes receiving a customer's identity information and transaction information at a local server. The customer's identity information is substituted with a unique generic ID at the local server. The generic ID and the transaction information are forwarded from the local server to a distinct compliance system while the customer's identity information is retained at the local server. The transaction information is processed at the distinct compliance system to obtain compliance information using the transaction information and the generic ID. The compliance information and the generic ID are forwarded from the distinct compliance system to the local server. The customer's identity information is retrieved using the generic ID at the local server.

  • Patent number: 6654724
Abstract: A system is provided for processing data including patient identity information and pharmaceutical information. The system permits analysis of the pharmaceutical information to occur while maintaining the confidentiality of the patient identity information. The system includes a server and a data processor. The server stores the data and transmits the data to a data processor. Before transmitting the data, the server replaces the patient identity information with unique generic identification information. The data processor imports the data, including the substituted generic identification information, and analyzes the pharmaceutical information to obtain results. The data processor then exports the results along with the associated generic identification information back to the server.
