  • Publication number: 20240123469
Abstract: A golf ball sorting system has a ball feeder configured to transport a plurality of golf balls. At least some of the golf balls have a conductive marking pattern that is not visible to an observer because the marking pattern is covered by at least one other layer of the golf ball. A detection system receives the golf balls, inspects the golf balls, and outputs a detection result. A sorting system receives the detection result and sorts the plurality of golf balls based on the detection result to separate the plurality of golf balls into at least three groups, including a first category of golf balls that do not have the marking pattern, a second category of golf balls that have a first type of the marking pattern, and a third category of golf balls that have a second type of the marking pattern.

  • Publication number: 20240115263
Abstract: An apposition device having a first elongate element movably coupled with a second elongate element. The second elongate element is deployable distal to the structures to be apposed, in a position transverse to the first elongate element. The first elongate element may be pulled to pull the second elongate element to move the structures into apposition. A third element may be positioned proximal to the structures to hold the structures in apposition. The third element may be a ratcheting element fixable in place with respect to the first elongate element. The apposition device may be deployed with a fine gauge needle. The second elongate element may be deployed from a side port in the needle facilitating deployment, and/or movement of the second elongate element with respect to the first elongate element and into a deployment configuration. Such arrangement may allow control of the first elongate element independent of the needle.

  • Patent number: 11948786
Abstract: A night vision system, a microchannel plate (MCP), and a planetary deposition system and methodology are provided for selectively depositing an electrode contact metal on one side of MCP channel openings. One or more MCPs can be releasably secured to a face of a platter that rotates about its central platter axis. The rotating platter can be tilted on a rotating ring fixture surrounding an evaporative source of contact metal. Therefore, the rotating platter further rotates so that it orbits around the evaporative source of contact metal. A mask with a variable size mask opening is arranged between the rotating platter and the evaporative source. While the mask orbits around the evaporative source with the rotating platter, the mask does not rotate along its own axis as does the rotating platter.

  • Publication number: 20230257283
Abstract: A method, system, and computer readable storage medium for determining an optimal amount of coagulant to be added to water for coagulation treatment. The method includes predicting a water quality index that would be achieved for a corresponding nominal coagulant dose by evaluating at least one coagulation-related incoming water parameter of water that has not been treated with coagulant, with a first mathematical model constructed from historical data including (i) previously administered coagulant dosages; and (ii) previously determined values of the water quality index of the water. The method also includes determining whether the predicted water quality index is within a target range. If the predicted quality index is not within the target range, then the coagulant dosage can be adjusted, and the adjusted dosage can be evaluated to predict the water quality index that would be achieved if the adjusted coagulant dosage is administered to the water.

  • Publication number: 20230202889
Abstract: Methods and systems for controlling nitrous oxide production in a wastewater treatment facility in which wastewater is treated with microbes in a biological reactor. Nitrous oxide production can be controlled by determining an amount of two or more nutrients in the biological reactor, calculating a value that represents a comparison of the values, comparing the calculated value to a threshold value, and optionally taking a corrective action to reduce nitrous oxide production based on the comparison. In one aspect, nitrous oxide production can be controlled by determining an amount of ammonium in the biological reactor, determining an amount of a nitrogen compound that can include nitrite, nitrate, and/or hydroxylamine, calculating a value that compares the amount of ammonium to the amount of the nitrogen compound, and taking a corrective action that changes a system parameter to reduce the nitrous oxide production if the calculated value surpasses a threshold limit.

  • Patent number: 11578471
Abstract: A circle drive system with clutch protection in motor graders is disclosed. The circle drive system includes a hydraulic motor that is configured to receive a pressurized fluid and generate a torque for a rotation of a circle and a moldboard. The circle drive system also includes a gearbox to transfer the torque generated by the hydraulic motor to the circle. Further, the circle drive system includes a clutch connected to the hydraulic motor at one end and to the gearbox at another end. In addition, the circle drive system also includes a hydraulic circuit having a pressure relief valve to relieve the pressurized fluid supplied to the hydraulic motor when a pressure of the pressurized fluid exceeds a predefined threshold. The pressure relief valve thereby, limits the torque generated by the hydraulic motor to less than or equal to a torque capacity of the clutch.

  • Patent number: 10447107
Abstract: A cover for a motor drive is provided. The cover includes an opening (often at the bottom of the cover) to allow air to pass to an air inlet of the motor drive and an opening (often near the top of the cover) to allow air from an air outlet of the motor drive to exit the cover. A hood provides rain protection for the drive and a separator (such as a baffle) within the enclosure prevents air flowing within the enclosure from the air outlet to the air inlet of the drive. The hood and/or the separator are shaped to direct air from the air outlet away from the enclosure in order to substantially reduce the re-circulation of air from the air outlet to the air inlet of the drive.

  • Publication number: 20180075233
Abstract: In a system for protecting user accessible software applications, an application is executed in coordination with a security agent, and the security agent can monitor communications between users and the application. By analyzing one or more automation characteristics of the communications, and by comparing and contrasting these characteristics with those of known security scanners, the agent can determine whether the communication is likely associated with a malicious user. The agent can also monitor whether a communication attempts to change the value of a decoy unit, and can designate such communication as associated with a likely malicious user. By analyzing the contents of the communication, the agent can designate a threat level to the communication. The agent can block the communications likely associated with malicious users and/or having a designated high threat level, or can alert a system administrator, to protect the software application.
