  • Publication number: 20240137343
Abstract: Techniques for auto-starting a VPN in a MAM environment are disclosed. A MAM-controlled application is launched on a computer system. Policy is queried and a determination is made as to whether to auto-start a VPN application based on the policy. Based on the policy, the VPN application is auto-started, and the VPN application initiates a VPN tunnel that is usable by at least the MAM-controlled application. Network communications transmitted to or from the MAM-controlled application then pass through the VPN tunnel.

  • Patent number: 11968372
Abstract: A system and methods for a CODEC driving a real-time light field display for multi-dimensional video streaming, interactive gaming and other light field display applications is provided applying a layered scene decomposition strategy. Multi-dimensional scene data is divided into a plurality of data layers of increasing depths as the distance between a given layer and the plane of the display increases. Data layers are sampled using a plenoptic sampling scheme and rendered using hybrid rendering, such as perspective and oblique rendering, to encode light fields corresponding to each data layer. The resulting compressed, (layered) core representation of the multi-dimensional scene data is produced at predictable rates, reconstructed and merged at the light field display in real-time by applying view synthesis protocols, including edge adaptive interpolation, to reconstruct pixel arrays in stages (e.g. columns then rows) from reference elemental images.

  • Publication number: 20240104834
Abstract: A system and method for volume rendering a light field, wherein the light field data is subjected to a layering scheme introducing a partitioning of the hogels into subsets. Each subset corresponding to a sub-volume of the layer volume, corresponds to the sub-region of the layer. Novel partitioning of the data combined with an efficient local memory caching technique, plenoptic downsampling strategies to reduce memory bandwidth requirements and volume rendering algorithm to produce a rendered light field image. A reduction in the total number of samples required can be obtained while still maintaining the quality of the resulting image. A method is also provided to order memory accesses aligned with ray calculations in order to maximize access coherency. Real-time layered scene decomposition can be combined with surface rendering method to create a hybrid real-time rendering method that supports rendering of scenes containing superimposed volumes and surfaces.

  • Publication number: 20230305735
Abstract: An electronic device is described. This electronic device may include: a first type of memory that stores a collision avoidance and detection data structure having a predefined size, a second type of memory, and a processor. For example, the first type of memory may include a volatile memory (such as flash memory), and the second type of memory may include a non-volatile memory (such as dynamic random access memory or DRAM). During operation, the electronic device may access, in the first type of memory, a subset of the collision avoidance and detection data structure based at least in part on current conditions, where the subset is less than the predefined size, and the current conditions include a position and speed of the electronic device. Then, the electronic device may load the subset from the first type of memory to the second type of memory.
