  • Patent number: 10898249
Abstract: A compression screw comprising: a shaft capable of being stretched, the shaft having a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end of the shaft comprising a bone-engaging feature and the distal end of the shaft comprising a distal screw thread, and the proximal end of the shaft comprising a drive feature for turning the shaft; wherein inserting the compression screw into bone across a fracture line generates a force, and wherein the force generates a stress in the shaft that causes the shaft to stretch to less than its elastic limit; and wherein, after the shaft is inserted into a bone, the shaft attempts to foreshorten to its original un-stretched condition, thereby generating and maintaining compression across the fracture line.

  • Patent number: 10874508
Abstract: An assembly includes a prosthetic heart valve and a delivery apparatus. The prosthetic heart valve has a plurality of pivotably connected struts and one or more adjustable elements rotatably coupled to the struts. Rotating the adjustable elements in a first direction relative to the struts radially expands the prosthetic heart valve. Rotating the adjustable elements in a second direction relative to the struts radially contracts the prosthetic heart valve. The delivery apparatus includes one or more motors, one or more drive wires coupled to the motors, and a memory. The drive wires are coupled to the adjustable elements of the prosthetic heart valve. The motors are configured to rotate the drive wires and the adjustable elements to expand and contract the prosthetic heart valve. The memory is configured for storing one or more characteristics of the motors, the drive wires, or the prosthetic heart valve.

  • Publication number: 20200363414
Abstract: A method for identifying T-cells that are antigen-specific for at least one neoantigen that is likely to be presented on surfaces of tumor cells of a subject. Peptide sequences of tumor neoantigens are obtained by sequencing the tumor cells of the subject. The peptide sequences are input into a machine-learned presentation model to generate presentation likelihoods for the tumor neoantigens, each presentation likelihood representing the likelihood that a neoantigen is presented by an MHC allele on the surfaces of the tumor cells of the subject. A subset of the neoantigens is selected based on the presentation likelihoods. T-cells that are antigen-specific for at least one of the neoantigens in the subset are identified. These T-cells can be expanded for use in T-cell therapy. TCRs of these identified T-cells can also be sequenced and cloned into new T-cells for use in T-cell therapy.

  • Patent number: 10799913
Abstract: A battery-powered, modular surgical device comprising an electrically powered surgical instrument that requires a pre-determined minimum amount of electrical energy to complete a surgical procedure, and a power module assembly that has a battery that powers the surgical instrument and has a current state of electrical charge, and a control circuit that is electrically coupled to the battery and the surgical instrument and has a memory and a microprocessor. The microprocessor determines the current state of electrical charge of the battery, compares the current state of electrical charge to the pre-determined minimum amount of electrical energy, permits the battery to discharge if the current state of electrical charge is above the pre-determined minimum amount of electrical energy, and maintains the battery in a non-discharge state if the current state of electrical charge is below the pre-determined minimum amount of electrical energy.

  • Publication number: 20200294668
Abstract: Various embodiments provide interfaces to access genomic testing information and incorporate it into daily physician practice. In some embodiments, presentation of genomic alteration data is simplified and/or coupled with contextual applications. Volumes of genomic alterations and associated information (e.g., journal articles, clinical trial information, therapies, etc.) are analyzed and synthesized into actionable information items viewable on an alteration system. According to one embodiment, the system can be configured to focus practitioners on discrete portions of the alteration information on which they can act. According to other aspects, curated information is provided on the system to enable practitioners to make informed decisions regarding the implications of the presence of specific genomic alterations.
