  • Publication number: 20150367337
Abstract: Described is a selective catalytic reduction catalyst comprising a zeolitic framework material of silicon and aluminum atoms, wherein a fraction of the silicon atoms are isomorphously substituted with a tetravalent metal. The catalyst can include a promoter metal such that the catalyst effectively promotes the reaction of ammonia with nitrogen oxides to form nitrogen and H2O selectively over a temperature range of 150 to 650° C. In another aspect, described is a selective catalytic reduction composite comprising an SCR catalyst material and an ammonia storage material comprising a transition metal having an oxidation state of IV. The SCR catalyst material promotes the reaction of ammonia with nitrogen oxides to form nitrogen and H2O selectively over a temperature range of 150° C. to 600° C., and the SCR catalyst material is effective to store ammonia at temperatures of 400° C. and above.

  • Publication number: 20150293219
Abstract: Described are a method and system for detecting and locating changes in an underground region. Changes are detected using a mobile coherent change detection ground penetrating radar (GPR). The GPR system is located on a mobile platform that makes two more measurement passes over the same route to acquire GPR images of an underground region at different times. A lateral offset between the GPR images for the two different times is determined and applied to one of the GPR images to generate a GPR shifted image that is spatially aligned with the other GPR image using a correlation process or other technique. A GPR difference image is generated from the GPR shifted image and the other GPR image. The GPR difference image includes data representative of changes to the underground region that occurred between the two measurement passes.

  • Publication number: 20150286984
Abstract: Systems and methods allow flyers to determine which airport lounges they may access. A flyer specifies an airport and access rules for lounges at the airport are applied to user data of the flyer to identify accessible lounges. A listing of the identified lounges is then displayed to the flyer. Systems and methods further allow management of airport lounge inventory. Inventory can be managed to increase occupancy, as well as to evenly distribute flyers within and across airport lounges.

  • Publication number: 20150249702
Abstract: Described herein are various principles for operating transfer protocols using adaptive flow control techniques. In accordance with some of these principles, a client may adaptively negotiate with a server regarding a window size to use when communicating datagrams using a connectionless content unit transfer protocol like the Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP). In some implementations, a client may inform a server whether to increase or decrease a window size. In these implementations, the client may increase the window size upon determining that a previous window size has led to successful transfer of content without any loss of datagrams and the client may decrease the window size upon detecting a loss of a datagram. Because of the limited resources available in some environments in which these techniques may be used, in some implementations a window size may be increased by small amounts but may be decreased drastically upon detecting a loss.

  • Publication number: 20150242929
Abstract: A recommendation system collects and aggregates customer feedback information to improve recommendations of wearable items to a consumer as well as provide manufacturers feedback related to their products. For example, the recommendation system may provide a user of a product selection system with an automated recommendation of a recommended size for a selected wearable item. After the user has purchased the selected wearable item, the system may present the user with a prompt to provide feedback relating to the item and/or a quality of the automated recommendation. When the system receives the feedback from the user and other consumers, the system may aggregate the user feedback to improve an aspect of the recommended size of the selected wearable item in the future. Additionally, the user's feedback, or a collection of aggregated user feedback, can be provided to the manufacturer of the purchased item.

  • Publication number: 20150161707
Abstract: A method and system for recommending a size of a wearable item uses a data set of wearable items, in which the data for each wearable item comprises a size and, for each size, one or more additional parameters related to the fit or feel of the item. A processing device receives a selection of one of the wearable items and a size for the selected wearable item from a user, accesses the data set to analyze the one or more additional parameters for the selected item in the selected size, and prompts the user to provide personalized sizing information. Based upon the personalized sizing information, which can include primary and secondary sizing information, the processing device provides a recommended size in the wearable item for the user. Additionally, the processing device can determine if the wearable item runs true to a standard size and, if not, adjust the recommended size accordingly.

  • Patent number: 8949024
Abstract: Described are a method and a system for localization of a vehicle. The method includes the acquisition of SPR images of a subsurface region along a vehicle track. Acquired SPR images are compared to SPR images previously acquired for a subsurface region that at least partially overlaps the subsurface region along the vehicle track. In some embodiments, the comparison includes an image correlation procedure. Location data for the vehicle are determined based in part on location data for the SPR images previously acquired for the second subsurface region. Location data can be used to guide the vehicle along a desired path. The relatively static nature of features in the subsurface region provides the method with advantages over other sensor-based navigation systems that may be adversely affected by weather conditions, dynamic features and time-varying illumination. The method can be used in a variety of applications, including self-driving automobiles and autonomous platforms.

  • Patent number: 8837278
Abstract: A system and a process for deploying a computer file involves a client computer applying the computer file concurrently with downloading the computer file from a file server. The concurrent operations can be performed even when the data of the computer file is downloaded out of order. The computer file includes a plurality of file segments. The client computer obtains information defining the file segments and monitors the received data of the computer file during downloading. When downloading of a file segment is complete, the client computer applies the completed segment concurrently with receiving other segments of the computer file from the file server. The process can be used when the computer file is downloaded using a multicast protocol, but is not limited to use with multicast protocols. The client computer can request only needed segments of the computer file.

  • Publication number: 20140245141
Abstract: To provide contextual user assistance for cloud services, an assistance panel is presented as part of the cloud service portal and is available in the user interface of the portal. The assistance panel can provide contextual assistance based on current user information, including task or error messages, as well as product name and user role. The assistance panel provides assistance functions including a search function, a browse syndicated community content function, and a post to a community forum function within the cloud service portal and can transform to accommodate the functions. For the browse function, the assistance panel uses the current user information to dynamically update a list of syndicated community content that can potentially match the user's needs as the user navigates to different pages presented in the portal. A content curator tool can be used to control and prioritize the content surfaced by the browse function.

  • Publication number: 20140210484
Abstract: A method for determining a circuit element parameter in a ground fault circuit interrupter circuit. An electrical signal provided to a first node is used to generate another electrical signal at a second node. The electrical signal at the second node is multiplexed with a modulation signal to generate a modulated signal that is then filtered and converted into a digital representation of a portion of the circuit element parameter. The electrical signal at the second node is multiplexed with the modulation signal after it has been phase shifted to produce a modulated signal that is filter and converted into a digital representation of another portion of the circuit element parameter. In another aspect, a slope based solenoid self-test method is used for self-testing in a GFCI circuit. Alternatively, a method for determining a wiring fault is provided using a digital filter.
