Abstract: A control system (200) for a vehicle (100) includes one or more processors collectively configured to: identify, using one or more sensors (220) of the vehicle, a parking space (302, 502) in proximity to the vehicle; determine a region of interest (350) of the identified parking space; determine, using one or more sensors, that the vehicle is at least partially located within the region of interest; while the vehicle is determined to be at least partially located within the region of interest: determine that one or more conditions are satisfied for outputting an automated parking operation prompt, the one or more conditions comprising a predetermined number of directional changes performed by a user of the vehicle; and output the automated parking operation prompt.

Abstract: A method, and a related control system and related vehicle for managing a parking maneuver, includes controlling a driving unit to perform a first reversing maneuver into a parking area. An object detection signal from a first sensor is received and indicates the presence and distance of an external object behind the vehicle, and stops the maneuver when the object is within a first predetermined distance. Upon receiving user input, the driving unit performs a second reversing maneuver. A boundary detection signal from a second sensor indicates a parking boundary, and the maneuver stops when the vehicle is within that boundary.
