  • Patent number: 10562419
Abstract: A child's booster seat is provided and can include a booster seat base and seat back. The booster seat base can be collapsed or folded from an in-use configuration to a collapsed configuration to improve portability of the booster seat base. The booster seat base can include multiple seating surface panels that are rotatably coupled to one another to allow the booster seat base to be collapsed from an in-use width to a collapsed width that is less than the in-use width. The booster seat base can also be coupled and decoupled from the booster seat back. The booster seat base can include tab members that can be inserted into tab receiving cavities of the booster seat back. Adjustment of the booster seat base from the in-use configuration to the collapsed configuration can also facilitate removal of the tab members from the tab receiving cavities of the booster seat back.

  • Patent number: 9586505
Abstract: A harness tensioner for a child safety seat has a lower lever part pivotable about an axis and an upper lever part above the lower lever part and pivotable about a different axis. A lower portion of the upper lever part contacts with an upper portion of the lower lever part. Harness straps of a child safety seat are coupled to the upper lever part. Upon an impact event, the lower part is moved against a biasing force, which in turn moves the upper part to apply rearward tension to the harness straps.

  • Publication number: 20160311345
Abstract: A seat belt tensioning apparatus can be incorporated into or coupled to a child car seat, such as a child car seat base, a forward-facing child car seat, a rearward facing child car seat, or a toddler seat, to provide additional tensioning of a vehicle seat belt. The seat belt tensioning apparatus can include a belt lock-off device that is configured to grip and hold a portion of a vehicle seat belt and move along a belt pathway when the child car seat is placed upon the top surface of a vehicle seat. The seat belt tensioning apparatus can also include an actuator operably coupled to the belt lock-off device and configured to move the belt lock-off device in one or two directions along the belt pathway to apply additional tension to a vehicle seat belt captured in the belt lock-off device.

  • Publication number: 20160114705
Abstract: A child safety seat can include a seat back and a seat bottom. The seat back can be fixedly, removably, and or rotatably coupled to the seat bottom. The seat back can include an adjustable head rest that moves vertically with respect to the seat back. The head rest can include a headrest latching mechanism for adjusting the vertical position of the headrest with respect to the seat back and a fold locking mechanism to selectively position the head rest and lock the seat back orientation in a raised position for use or a folded position for carrying or storage. The head rest can include a single adjustment actuator, such as a pushbutton or lever, to actuate both the latching and locking mechanisms with a single hand for selectively adjusting the headrest position and seat back orientation.
