    Abstract: A vehicle seat assembly includes a releasable portable seat for use outside of the vehicle. The seat assembly includes a seat back and a seat bottom attached to the seat back which define the portable seat. The seat assembly further includes a mounting assembly adapted to be mounted on a vehicle floor. The mounting assembly defines an occupant seating portion for supporting a portion of an occupant of the vehicle seat assembly. The portable seat is adapted to be releasably attached to the mounting assembly.
