  • Publication number: 20140345869
Abstract: A method for treating a production wellbore involves a moving liner run-in on a work string to a treatment zone. Treatment fluid is pumped at high flow rate and pressure down the annulus, through a crossover to the interior of the liner and to the treatment zone. Zones co-extensive with the liner are shielded from treatment as a path of least resistance is defined into the treatment zone. Relatively tight liner clearance and high treatment flow rates prevent treatment of shielded zones. Flow rate is reduced, but pressure maintained, while the moving liner is pulled, exposing another zone.

  • Patent number: 7980299
Abstract: Method of treating, especially, horizontally deviated wellbores where various treating solutions such as, acids, slurries, proppants, fracturing fluids, flushing fluids, or sealants are transferred into an annulus formed by a casing in the well and a working string. The working string has a seal member providing a sliding seal with the casing, a perforated nipple above the seal, and a check valve above the perforated nipple for preventing back flow through the working string to the surface. The working string has a seal element at the wellhead to avoid treating solutions leaking from the annulus out the wellhead. Treating solution of the desired make-up is pumped into the annulus, through the perforated nipple, down the working string, along the horizontal deviated wellbore, then into the strata or formation through a dispersing tool for the particular treating solution.

  • Patent number: 5353874
Abstract: A method of treating a downhole formation in a wellbore having multiple zones of porosity by circulating a carrier fluid downhole to the lowermost zone of porosity, and then flowing an acid soluble blocking agent into the wellbore. The blocking agent is translocated to a location where it is free to flow along the lower end of the borehole and seal the zones of porosity. The blocking agent is a mixture of acid soluble material that is relatively insoluble in the carrier fluid, and is of a size to block the pores of the zones of porosity so that flow into the zones is severely reduced. A solution of acid is spotted downhole within a selected zone of porosity. The solution of acid degrades the blocking agent and the degraded blocking agent becomes admixed with the carrier fluid and the flow restriction of the blocking agent within the zone is destroyed. Next a treatment fluid for stimulating the selected zone is conveyed downhole and forced into the opened selected zone until the zone is stimulated.
