The hinge mechanism (201) comprises first and second co-operable hinge parts (204, 205) mountable to a shower door (203), and a manually-operable element (206) engageable with at least one of the first and second parts (204, 205) such that operating the manually-operable element (206) causes one of the first and second parts (204, 205) to be moved into a raised position relative to the other. Shower door apparatus (202) comprising the hinge mechanism (201), and a shower door installation (301) comprising the shower door apparatus (202). A method of enabling a shower door (203) to be lifted to enable rotation of the shower door (203) free of contact with the shower area floor.
