Abstract: Systems and techniques are directed to a Swappable Retractable Tool Tip (SRTT), which is designed as a next generation of friction stir welding tools and retractable tool tips. The disclosed SRTT may be “swappable,” having different types of retractable tool tips that can be assembled and employed as a part of the SRTT. A SRTT system can include at least: a blank tool holder, a piston, and a retractable tool tip. In operation, the blank tool holder allows air to flow to cause movement of the piston and the retractable tool tip. For example, compressed air can push up on the piston and the retractable tool tip, retracting it into a “home” position inside of the blank tool holder. Also, the SRTT can include springs that push down on the piston and the retractable tool tip, extending the tip into an “extended” position outside of the blank tool holder.

At least one reference image of the plurality of the reference images is associated with a best focus position. The plurality of reference images are analyzed to develop a plurality of pattern locations, wherein each pattern location represents a position of a pattern formed on the image plane when a corresponding reference image was captured. The objective lens is positioned in accordance with the best focus position and the plurality of pattern locations.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media that support security-aware compression of machine learning (ML) and/or artificial intelligence (AI) models, such as for use by edge computing systems. Aspects described herein leverage cybersecurity threat models, particularly models of ML/AI-based threats, during iterative pruning to improve security of compressed ML models. To illustrate, iterative pruning may be performed on a pre-trained ML model until stop criteria are satisfied. This iterative pruning may include pruning an input ML model based on pruning heuristic(s) to generate a candidate ML model, testing the candidate ML model based on attack model(s) to generate risk assessment metrics, and updating the heuristic(s) based on the risk assessment metrics. If the risk assessment metrics fail to satisfy the stop criteria, the candidate ML model may be provided as input to a next iteration of the iterative pruning.

Abstract: A gaming machine comprising a display, and a game controller that at least: selects a first set of symbols, causes the display to display the first set of symbols at a first set of display positions and conducts a random selection process so that a second set of display positions has an overlapping spatial relationship with a first set of display positions. In an exemplary method, immersion fluid may be delivered onto a front end of an objective of the imaging system to form one or more boluses. Each bolus may have a rounded outer surface intersected by an optical axis defined by the objective. At least a portion of each bolus may be illuminated. Light may be detected from each illuminated bolus to create detection data. A value representing a size of each bolus may be determined using the detection data. Delivery of the immersion fluid may be adjusted, if needed, based on the value(s) determined.
