For example, an audio input representative of spoken speech may be received and divided into a series of windows. The windows may be analyzed to determine whether or not one or more of the windows meet one or more speech criteria. The number of times a window meets one or more speech criteria may be counted and modified by a modifier factor to determine a word count. The word count may be output in a graphical user interface.
