  • Publication number: 20050234402
Abstract: A fluid dispensing device having a housing and a pump action fluid discharge device. The pump action fluid discharge device is arranged to be actuated by one or more levers which are pivotally connected to part of the housing and are driveably connect by a toothed drive to a container forming part of the fluid discharge device 8. When the one or more levers are squeezed together the container is urged towards a nozzle of the fluid dispensing device causing a pump forming part of the fluid discharge device to dispense a single dose of fluid from the nozzle.

  • Publication number: 20040143396
Abstract: A method of generating short-, medium-range and seasonal-timescale weather or climate forecasts by running an ensemble of computer models on a distributed computing system or network. Individual model integrations are interrogated to select those that most closely ressemble observed conditions in the present and recent past and the forecast based on a weighted average of future predictions based on this subset of the ensemble. The selection criteria determining which models are deemed to fit the observations most closely may be adjusted to optimise the use of observations in forecasting specific climate variables or geographic regions in order to develop forcasts tailored to particular applications.

  • Patent number: 6359938
Abstract: The invention provides a single chip implementation of a digital receiver for multicarrier signals that are transmitted by orthogonal frequency division multiplexing. Improved channel estimation and correction circuitry are provided. The receiver has highly accurate sampling rate control and frequency control circuitry. BCH decoding of tps data carriers is achieved with minimal resources with an arrangement that includes a small Galois field multiplier. An improved FFT window synchronization circuit is coupled to the resampling circuit for locating the boundary of the guard interval transmitted with the active frame of the signal. A real-time pipelined FFT processor is operationally associated with the FFT window synchronization circuit and operates with reduced memory requirements.
