  • Patent number: 11930857
Abstract: Features relating to vaporizer devices configured to allow for temperature adjustment are provided. User controlled actions with respect to removing a cartridge from a vaporizer body and inserting the cartridge into the vaporizer body provide for temperature adjustment, where the temperature refers to a setpoint temperature of operation of the vaporizer device. The temperature adjustment aspects of the current subject matter provide a user with a controlled, intuitive, and simple method to adjust the setpoint temperature of the vaporizer device by incrementing through a sequence of setpoint temperatures.

  • Publication number: 20220362489
Abstract: A vaporizer device (100) may be configured to adjust, based on ambient pressure, a setpoint temperature and/or a ramp rate of the vaporizer device. The setpoint temperature of the vaporizer device may be adjusted based on the ambient pressure in order to account for differences in the boiling point of a vaporizable material at different ambient pressures. Adjusting the setpoint temperature of the vaporizer device based on ambient pressure may further compensate for changes in the sensitivity of a user's taste buds in different ambient pressure and/or humidity environments. The ramp rate of the vaporizer device may be adjusted based on the ambient pressure such that the vaporizer device is able to achieve the higher boiling point of the vaporizable material in a higher ambient pressure environment in a same quantity of time as a lower boiling point of the vaporizable material in a lower ambient pressure environment.

  • Publication number: 20220240579
Abstract: Features relating to a vaporizer device including a reusable vaporizer device body and a cartridge with a reservoir containing a vaporizable material are provided. Aspects of the current subject matter provide for improved wick saturation by reducing the viscosity of the vaporizable material and aiding in the release of air bubbles that form and are trapped in the wick as the vaporizable material is consumed by a user, thereby improving aerosol production. The improved wick saturation is achieved by applying, between user puffs on the vaporizer device, a mechanical agitation and/or a standby temperature setting.

  • Publication number: 20210154420
Abstract: Features relating to vaporizer device configurations related to dose consumption are provided. Aspects relate to configuring a vaporizer device with respect to providing feedback to a user with respect to dose consumption of one or more vaporizable materials being vaporized and inhaled by a user of a vaporizer device. The vaporizer device monitors dose consumption, based on at least applied energy amounts, and generates feedback in the form of a haptics pulse, an audio indication, a visual indication, or a combination thereof. A timer is used to determine if a dose falls within a series of doses or is part of a new series. A timeout period is used to stop or limit use following the completion of a series of doses. Data relating to the dose consumption and the series of doses may be stored on and associated with a cartridge, allowing for resumption of the dose consumption aspects.

  • Publication number: 20210153562
Abstract: Aspects of the current subject matter are directed to transitioning a vaporizer device between different modes of operation including an active mode, a standby mode, and a deep standby mode. The vaporizer device may include a pressure sensor to measure a first pressure in an air flow path, and an ambient pressure sensor to measure a second pressure corresponding to an atmospheric pressure. The transition between different modes of operation may change the sampling frequency and/or resolution of the pressure sensor and/or the ambient pressure sensor such that sampling occurs at a higher frequency and/or resolution when the vaporizer device is in an active mode. Additionally, a comparison of the pressure in the air flow path with the ambient pressure after a heating element is activated may serve as a verification by the vaporizer device that a user is drawing on the vaporizer device.

  • Publication number: 20200146361
Abstract: In an aspect, there is provided an apparatus which may include a cartridge and a vaporizer body. The cartridge may include a cartridge body defining a reservoir configured to contain vaporizable material, a vaporizing assembly positioned within the cartridge body. The vaporizer body may include a receptacle configured to receive at least a portion of the cartridge, and control circuitry comprising at least one processor and at least one memory disposed within the vaporizer body, the at least one memory including instructions which when executed cause operations comprising: storing an event indicative of detection of an insertion of the cartridge into the vaporizer body; requesting, from the cartridge, cartridge information; receiving, in response to the request, the cartridge information stored at the cartridge; and configuring, based at least in part of the received cartridge information, the vaporizer device for vaporizing of the vaporizable material.
