  • Publication number: 20200317239
Abstract: A sensor device includes an audio sensor and a wireless communication module. The audio sensor is configured to be mounted on a railroad vehicle. The audio sensor is configured to (i) monitor sounds emanating from one or more wheels of the railroad vehicle as the railroad vehicle moves along a track and (ii) generate sound data associated with the monitored sounds emanating from the one or more wheels. The wireless communication module is configured to transmit a broken wheel signal responsive to a determination that a portion of the generated sound data is indicative that a first one of the one or more wheels is damaged or broken.

  • Publication number: 20200239049
Abstract: A method for analyzing one or more conditions of a transportation pathway includes obtaining, using an imaging device of an inspection system, image data reproducible as a plurality of images of the transportation pathway, each of the plurality of images being reproducible as an image of a portion of the transportation pathway, each portion of the transportation pathway having an associated location along a length of the transportation pathway, analyzing, using one or more processors of the inspection system, the image data to determine a first plurality of metrics indicative of a condition of the transportation pathway at each of the associated locations, and generating a first graph, using the determined first plurality of metrics, that is indicative of the condition of the transportation pathway at each of the associated locations.

  • Publication number: 20200207384
Abstract: A method for operating a railroad vehicle without reference to physical railroad signs placed along a railroad track includes determining a current location of the railroad vehicle along the railroad track based on the determined current location of the railroad vehicle, automatically selecting a virtual railroad sign from one or more databases containing a plurality of virtual railroad signs, each of the plurality of virtual railroad signs stored in the one or more databases being associated with (i) a location along the railroad track and (ii) a message, and displaying, on an electronic display device a railroad track indicia representative of a segment of the railroad track, a railroad vehicle indicia representative of at least a portion of the railroad vehicle, and an indicia representative of the associated message of the selected virtual railroad sign.

  • Publication number: 20200164904
Abstract: A system for analyzing a railroad track comprises a transport device, a camera coupled to the transport device, an electronic display device, a memory device, and one or more processors. The camera is disposed adjacent to a rail of the railroad track and generates image data reproducible as one or more images of at least a portion of a surface of the rail. The processors can produce an image of the rail surface, which includes a plurality of elongated portions. The image is analyzed to identify any defects that exist within each elongated portion of the rail surface. The processors determine a value of a metric for each elongated portion of the rail surface. The metric is associated with the identified defects. The electronic display device displays a graph indicative of the metric for each elongated portion, the image of the rail surface, or both.

  • Publication number: 20200160733
Abstract: A method for autonomously navigating an aerial vehicle along a railroad track includes obtaining, from one or more cameras coupled to the aerial vehicle, image data reproducible as an image of a portion of the railroad track, identifying, based at least in part on the image data, a first rail and a second rail of the portion of the railroad track, determining, based at least in part on the identified first and second rails of the portion of the railroad track, a centerline of the portion of the railroad track, and generating, based at least in part on the determined centerline, flight instructions to cause the aerial vehicle to move relative to the railroad track.

  • Publication number: 20200101989
Abstract: A system for analyzing thermal properties of a railroad includes a thermal imaging device configured to generate thermal image data reproducible as a thermal image of a portion of the railroad, the thermal image data being associated with a location of the portion of the railroad, an electronic display device, a memory device configured to receive and store therein the generated thermal image data; and one or more processors configured to: determine a temperature metric of the portion of the railroad based at least in part on the thermal image data; and cause the electronic display device to display (i) a first graph indicative of the temperature metric of the portion of the railroad and (ii) a second graph indicative of a railroad track geometry metric associated with the location of the portion of the railroad.

  • Publication number: 20190175716
Abstract: The present invention provides recombinant adenoviral vectors, immunogenic compositions thereof and their uses in medicine. In particular, the present invention provides an adenoviral vector comprising the genome of an adenovirus other than AdHu5 and AdY25, wherein the genome of the adenovirus has been modified such that the vector lacks the native E4 locus of the adenovirus and comprises heterologous E4Orf1, E4Orf2 and E4Orf3 coding regions from AdY25.
