Patent number: 12424049Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to cash handling devices that provide intelligent monitoring and management of cash cycles. A cash handling device having at least one processor, a communication interface, and memory may receive, from a mobile device, a request to process a pre-staged transaction. Subsequently, the cash handling device may generate and present a graphical identifier based on the mobile device requesting access to the cash handling device. Next, the cash handling device may verify that the mobile device is authorized to perform the pre-staged transaction based on the graphical identifier being scanned by the mobile device and cause a connection to be established between the cash handling device and the mobile device. Thereafter, the cash handling device may identify and process the pre-staged transaction associated with the mobile device. Then, the cash handling device may generate a notification indicating completed processing of the identified pre-staged transaction.Type: GrantFiled: March 28, 2024Date of Patent: September 23, 2025Assignee: Bank of America CorporationInventors: Paul Martin Mattison, Sr., Matthew E. Publication number: 20240320642Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure related to identifying and resolving anomalies associated with an ATM processing a check that has been deposited by a customer. The computing platform may receive a digital representation of the check that has been deposited. The computing platform may compare parameters associated with the check to expected parameters. The computing platform may generate a validation report comprising an anomaly, an event code associated with the anomaly, and an action to resolve the anomaly based on the event code. The computing platform may input results and feedback into a machine learning model to further refine the accuracy and reliability of the computing platform over time.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 21, 2023Publication date: September 26, 2024Inventors: Paul Mattison, David Smiddy, Charles H. Gruesbeck, II, Kurt A. Loth, Matthew E. Williams, Nathaniel Mckinnon, Melvin Gregory Nixon, Frazier Smith, Nicholas F. Catalano, Aaron L. Buchanan, Frederick Louis Chinske, IV

Publication number: 20240311788Abstract: Arrangements for self-service kiosk inventory control are provided. In some aspects, note data may be received by a computing platform from a self-service kiosk and may include note identifiers. The computing platform may monitor the self-service kiosk for a triggering event. Responsive to detecting the triggering event, the computing platform may generate and send an instruction to the self-service kiosk causing the self-service kiosk to initiate a rescan function. The the rescan function may cause the self-service kiosk to recapture a note identifier associated with each note of currency currently within the self-service kiosk. The results of the rescan may be compared to the received note data to determine whether all expected notes are within the self-service kiosk. If not, a service instruction may be generated and sent, an instruction causing the self-service kiosk to modify functionality may be generated and sent, or the like.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 13, 2023Publication date: September 19, 2024Inventors: Paul Mattison, Matthew E. Publication number: 20180114222Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to interaction among an entity, an entity's mobile device, one or more Automated Teller Machines (ATM's), an associated beacon generator, and a support computing system. With some embodiments, the beacon generator generates a beacon signal to the mobile device. The mobile device extracts beacon information such as an identification of the beacon generator and/or associated ATM and conveys this information to the support computing system via a second wireless channel. The support computing system subsequently instructs the ATM to transition to an appropriate display container as the entity approaches the ATM. The ATM may further transition to different display containers based on interactions with the entity and/or support computing system.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 19, 2017Publication date: April 26, 2018Inventors: Ryan Furey, Charles R. Patent number: 8324846Abstract: A retarding system for an electric drive machine (100) includes a direct current (DC) link (312), at which a DC voltage is developed, disposed between a rectifier (206) and an inverter (208). A first contactor switch (216) electrically communicates with a first rail of the DC link (312), and a second contactor switch (216) electrically communicates with a second rail of the DC link (312). A first resistor grid (214) is connected in series between the first contactor switch (216) and the second contactor switch (216). The first resistor grid (214) dissipates electrical energy in the form of heat by conducting a current between the first rail and the second rail of the DC link (312) when the first contactor switch (216) and the second contactor switch (216) are closed.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2008Date of Patent: December 4, 2012Assignee: Caterpillar Inc.Inventors: David G. Marchand, Matthew E. Williams, Gerald Brown, John Gunzburger
