  • Publication number: 20240189940
Abstract: A crystalline material processing method includes forming subsurface laser damage at a first average depth position to form cracks in the substrate interior propagating outward from at least one subsurface laser damage pattern, followed by imaging the substrate top surface, analyzing the image to identify a condition indicative of presence of uncracked regions within the substrate, and taking one or more actions responsive to the analyzing. One potential action includes changing an instruction set for producing subsequent laser damage formation (at second or subsequent average depth positions), without necessarily forming additional damage at the first depth position. Another potential action includes forming additional subsurface laser damage at the first depth position.

  • Publication number: 20240128085
Abstract: A method for removing a portion of a crystalline material (e.g., SiC) substrate includes joining a surface of the substrate to a rigid carrier (e.g., >800 ?m thick), with a subsurface laser damage region provided within the substrate at a depth relative to the surface. Adhesive material having a glass transition temperature above 25° C. may bond the substrate to the carrier. The crystalline material is fractured along the subsurface laser damage region to produce a bonded assembly including the carrier and a portion of the crystalline material. Fracturing of the crystalline material may be promoted by (i) application of a mechanical force proximate to at least one carrier edge to impart a bending moment in the carrier; (ii) cooling the carrier when the carrier has a greater coefficient of thermal expansion than the crystalline material; and/or (iii) applying ultrasonic energy to the crystalline material.

  • Publication number: 20230045300
Abstract: The train detection system comprises a wireless communication network further comprising train detection modules attached to catenary poles at the entrance and exit of the railyard. Each train detection module is equipped with a plurality of diverse sensors configured to detect trains and other on-track vehicles. The diverse sensors are simultaneously active and work together for detecting an approaching or leaving train. The train detection modules generate train alerts which are transmitted wirelessly over the wireless communication network. Each of the railyard workers wears a personal alert device capable of wirelessly connecting with the train detection modules and receiving the train alerts over the said wireless communication network. The train alert modules are capable of transmitting alerts wirelessly to personal alert devices and other train alert modules. Train alert modules are capable of generating audio visual warnings for any personnel which may not be equipped with personal alert module.

  • Publication number: 20220089255
Abstract: Apparatus featuring a toilet base having a wall forming a chamber for receiving waste, the wall having a toilet base coupling portion; a pump/motor assembly having a pump inlet configured to receive the waste pumped from the chamber, the pump inlet having a pump inlet coupling portion arranged inside the toilet base coupling portion when the pump/motor assembly and the toilet base are coupled together; and a quick release coupling mechanism having a clip receiving portion and a clip configured to slide within the clip receiving portion from a disengage position to an engage position to engage the pump inlet coupling portion and couple the toilet base and the pump/motor assembly together, and also configured to slide from the engage position to the disengage position to disengage the pump inlet coupling portion and decouple the pump/motor assembly from the toilet base.

  • Publication number: 20210256621
Abstract: A computer implemented system and method which allows an insurer to more effectively target business development activities towards independent insurance brokers. The system has a data ingestion system for securely receiving agent data from an agent system and aggregating the agent data into one or more database entry. The agent data comprises agent client data and agent identification data and the agent client data is masked such that specific agent client data is absent from or obscured in the database entry. A user database is provided for receiving the database entry as is a user interface.

  • Publication number: 20080180962
Abstract: The invention is a motorcycle shock mounted illumination device. The invention features a base mount with metal strap for primary attachment to a motorcycle shock, an angled pair of light strips created from circuit boards and LEDs and attached to the base mount, and a tubular housing that also attaches to the base mount. The tubular housing is translucent and encloses the light strips. The generally rearward facing light strip is designed to flash in red when the motorcycle brakes are applied and the generally sideward facing light strip is designed to be generally on all the time in yellow or amber except when the motorcycle brakes are applied in which case the LEDs of the side facing strip turn off and on in a grouped sequence.
