  • Patent number: 11077939
Abstract: An aircraft operable to transition between thrust-borne lift in a VTOL orientation and wing-borne lift in a forward flight orientation. The aircraft has a blended wing body and includes an engine, a binary lift fan system, a forced air bypass system and an exhaust system. The engine has a turboshaft mode and a turbofan mode. The lift fan system includes a plurality of ducted fans in a tandem lateral orientation. In the VTOL orientation of the aircraft, the engine is in the turboshaft mode coupled to the lift fan system such that the engine provides rotational energy to the ducted fans generating the thrust-borne lift. In the forward flight orientation of the aircraft, the engine is in the turbofan mode coupled to the forced air bypass system such that the bypass air combines with the engine exhaust in the exhaust system to provide forward thrust generating the wing-borne lift.

  • Publication number: 20210234288
Abstract: A power input terminal block includes terminals received in terminal channels of a housing each having a main body defining a wire pocket receiving a supply wire and a take-off tab electrically connected to the main body. The power input terminal block includes clamp contacts coupled to the take-off tabs each having a base, a spring beam extending from the base, and a cap extending from the spring beam having a poke-in window configured to receive a take-off wire. An edge defining the poke-in window engages the take-off wire and pulls the take-off wire against the wire side of the take-off tab. The power input terminal block includes release levers coupled to the housing to move the spring beam to an extended position to allow loading and removal of the take-off wire from the clamp contact and the take-off tab.

  • Patent number: 11072423
Abstract: An aircraft operable to transition between thrust-borne lift in a VTOL orientation and wing-borne lift in a forward flight orientation. The aircraft has a blended wing body and includes an engine, a unitary lift fan system, a forced air bypass system and an exhaust system. The engine has a turboshaft mode and a turbofan mode. The lift fan system includes a ducted fan. In the VTOL orientation of the aircraft, the engine is in the turboshaft mode coupled to the lift fan system such that the engine provides rotational energy to the ducted fan generating the thrust-borne lift. • Patent number: 11010487
Abstract: A data management and storage (DMS) cluster of peer DMS nodes manages resources of a multi-tenant environment. The DMS cluster provides an authorization framework that provides user access which is scoped to the resources within a tenant organization and the privileges of the user within the organization. To authorize an action on a resource by a user, the DMS cluster determines determine user authorizations associated with the user defining privileges of the user on the resources of the multi-tenant environment, and organization authorizations associated defining resources of the multi-tenant environment that belong to the organization. The DMS cluster authorizes the action when the user authorizations and organizations authorized indicate that the action on the resource is authorized.

  • Publication number: 20210139996
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods for detecting and targeting genomic rearrangements, in particular gene fusion events, by targeting a DNA molecule of interest with a set or pool of primers, wherein the forward primers and reverse primers produce a PCR amplification product when a genomic rearrangement is present. The present disclosure also relates to methods of bioinformatic analysis to determine whether or not the detection of an amplification product from the selective PCR is actually indicative of the presence of a gene fusion. The present disclosure also related to related methods of diagnosis and treatment of diseases and conditions associated with such genomic rearrangements, in particular cancers, such as lung cancer.

  • Publication number: 20210133703
Abstract: A direct interaction network in which resources are more efficiently transferred between entities having resource pools with the same organization. The interaction network may be implemented by transforming a user computer system into the interaction terminal for the interaction such that the provider entity does not require interaction terminals to enter into interactions. Alternatively, the interaction network may be entered through interaction terminals of the provider entity without the user having a user computer system and without the user providing a physical instrument for the interaction. These implementations may be possible due at least in part to being able to determine that the entity resource pools are administered by the same organization. Furthermore, one or more sensors may be utilized with the user computer system and/or interaction terminals in order to determine the presence or identity of a user, and/or the subject of the interaction.

  • Publication number: 20210114723
Abstract: A modular tandem tiltrotor aircraft in which the tiltrotor assemblies are operably coupled at the forward and aft ends of the fuselage of the aircraft is disclosed. The modular tandem tiltrotor assemblies are capable of rotating between a vertical lift position and a horizontal flight position. The modular tandem tiltrotor aircraft can be structurally more efficient and lower drag than a conventional tiltrotor, has better control authority and lifting capacity than hybrid-quads and tail-sitters, and has more range than a helicopter or multi-rotor. The modular tandem tiltrotor aircraft can orbit and search over a broad area, or can hover for long periods, depending on the application. Instead of providing a multi-function tandem tiltrotor aircraft that is generally suited for all applications, but not optimized for any, the modular tandem tiltrotor aircraft allows for customized configuration to optimize the aircraft for a particular application.
