  • Publication number: 20070064987
Abstract: A system uses imaging device orientation, location and inclination data to create a link between a medical report statement and a specific image or series of images enabling a user to view a patient imaging report of a patient automatically associating a patient image and a corresponding report statement. A system identifies an anatomical portion of a patient using positional data derived from an imaging device. The system includes an acquisition processor for acquiring positional data of a directional image acquisition unit oriented to acquire an image of a particular anatomical portion of a patient. The positional data corresponds to a particular orientation used to acquire a particular image of the particular anatomical portion of the patient. A repository of mapping data links positional data of the image acquisition unit with data identifying anatomical portions of a patient.

  • Publication number: 20060280287
Abstract: A system uses a digital photographic camera attached to a radiation therapy device to create an overlay of radiation beam information comprising data identifying treated patient anatomical region data and supporting determination of cumulative radiation treatment information from multiple treatment overlays. A system records a treatment beam landing area on the anatomical body surface of a patient for use in radiation or other therapy. The system includes an input processor for receiving data representing an image of the surface of a portion of the anatomy of a patient. A data processor provides beam landing position data relative to the image by calculating a position of a treatment beam landing area relative to the image using received input data indicating projection characteristics of a treatment beam used in treating the portion of the anatomy of the patient. A storage processor stores the beam landing position data in a record associated with the patient.

  • Publication number: 20060242143
Abstract: A multi imaging modality reading system enables medical report generation to begin earlier in a workflow process by enabling automatic image correlation of images derived by one or multiple, imaging modalities allowing for comparison of pathology over time and between modalities. A user interface system for accessing multiple medical images derived from different types of medical imaging systems includes at least one repository. The at least one repository associates, multiple different medical images derived from corresponding multiple different types of medical imaging systems, with data identifying a particular anatomical body part of a particular patient and with data identifying the different types of medical imaging systems.

  • Publication number: 20060242144
Abstract: A system determines a most recent medical image study accessed or used by a healthcare worker and identifies the most up to date instance of a medical image study stored in a distributed environment with multiple DICOM storage nodes, for example. A medical image data acquisition and processing system, involves multiple sources of medical image data accessible via a network. The medical image data comprises one or more sets of medical images of a particular patient individually including an associated medical image set identifier. A search processor automatically initiates a search of the multiple sources to identify existence of sets of medical images of a particular patient having a duplicate first medical image identifier, in response to a user command to access a set of medical images having the first medical image identifier.

  • Publication number: 20060106648
Abstract: An intelligent patient context sharing system enables a user, interfacing with multiple, different sources each storing patient specific context information, to create probabilistic associations among the patient specific context information. The system includes a predictive identification processor and a communication processor. The predictive identification processor performs probabilistic matching on multiple different items of patient specific context information to identify a patient-context information item likely to be associated with a first patient-context information item. The communication processor communicates the identified patient-context information item to an executable application for use by the executable application in accessing information associated with a specific patient.
