Publication number: 20240142244Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for determining a route are provided. In some examples, the method comprises: receiving measurements of one or more motion sensors of a mobile device disposed in a vehicle; selecting, based on a start time and an end time of a first route, a subset of the measurements; determining, based on the subset of the measurements, turns or stops made by the vehicle as part of the first route and their directions; determining, based on the subset of the measurements, distances of path segments traveled by the vehicle between the turns or stops; constructing an estimated route including a sequence of the turns or stops and path segments; selecting, based on comparing the estimated route and a plurality of candidates routes from a map, the first route; and displaying the map including the first route.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 2, 2023Publication date: May 2, 2024Applicant: Cambridge Mobile Telematics Inc.Inventors: Harrison Kitchen, Matthew Evan Lewin, Yuting Qi, William Abildgaard, JR., Ankit Singhania, Edward Gelberg

Patent number: 11910272Abstract: A method includes receiving, by a mobile device, a notification, executing, in response to receiving the notification, a data collection application over a time interval, and requesting, by the data collection application, sensor measurements from an operating system of the mobile device. The sensor measurements are collected prior to receiving the notification and before execution of the data collection application. The method also includes receiving, by the data collection application and from the operating system, a set of sensor measurements and transmitting, by the data collection application, the sensor measurements to a server during the time interval. The data collection application terminates upon expiration of the time interval.Type: GrantFiled: September 30, 2022Date of Patent: February 20, 2024Assignee: Cambridge Mobile Telematics Inc.Inventors: Matthew Evan Lewin, Joseph Patrick Adelmann, William Ryan Kreamer, William Abildgaard, Jr., Ankit Singhania, Bryan Scott

Publication number: 20220126842Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for accessing sensor-based driving data prior to the installation of an application on a mobile device. Data corresponding to time intervals preceding the installation may be used to detect a trip by: identifying a first time at which the data indicates a high probability of vehicular activity and identifying a second time at which the data indicates a low probability of vehicular activity, wherein the second time instant occurs after the first time. The trip may correspond to a first time interval that extends between the first time and the second time.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 5, 2022Publication date: April 28, 2022Applicant: CAMBRIDGE MOBILE TELEMATICS INC.Inventors: Matthew Evan Lewin, Yuting Qi, Joseph Patrick Adelmann, William Abildgaard, JR., Ankit Singhania, Edward Gelberg

Publication number: 20220019924Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for accessing sensor-based driving data that includes detecting a waking event associated with an application and activating the application in response to detecting the waking event. Activity data for a recorded time interval preceding the waking event may be used to detect a missed trip by: identifying a first time in which the activity data indicates a high probability of automotive activity and identifying a second time in which the activity data indicates a low probability of automotive activity, wherein the second time instant occurs after the first time. The missed trip may correspond to a first time interval that extends between the first time and the second time. Sensor data may then be received for a second time interval that begins prior to the first time and ends after the second time.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 19, 2021Publication date: January 20, 2022Applicant: CAMBRIDGE MOBILE TELEMATICS INC.Inventors: Matthew Evan Lewin, Yuting Qi, Joseph Patrick Adelmann, William Abildgaard, JR., Ankit Singhania, Edward Gelberg
