Abstract: An adjustable lamp is disclosed having a rod and a light assembly that slideably connects to the rod at a connection assembly. The light assembly includes a housing and a light socket contained within the housing. The light assembly further includes an extension member that connects the housing to the connection assembly. The connection assembly moves along the rod laterally along a longitudinal axis. The connection assembly may be locked into a position along the rod. For example, the rod may be connected to a vertical surface and a light source contained in the housing may be directed downward, toward a desk or table or other horizontal surface. The slideable connection allows the light assembly to move up or down relative to the horizontal surface in this use.
