Patent number: 11822633Abstract: Techniques are described for authenticating an individual based at least partly on a tremor signature of the individual. Motion data is collected through motion sensor(s), such as accelerometers, gyroscopic motion sensors, and so forth, of a portable computing device that is being held, worn, or is otherwise in contact with the user. Based on the collected motion data, a tremor signature may be determined and compared to a previously determined model for the user, and an authentication determination may be made based on the comparison. The tremor signature may be used in combination with other information to authenticate the user. For example, the tremor signature may be used in combination with location information and/or other biometric data such as a fingerprint scan, image of the user's face, audio recording of the user's voice, the user's heartbeat, a cardiac electrical signature, bio-electrical impedance, and so forth.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 2020Date of Patent: November 21, 2023Assignee: United Services Automobile Association (USAA)Inventors: Snehal Desai, Matthew Flachsbart, Bradley Jay Billman

Patent number: 11714422Abstract: A robotic vehicle can seek markers in one or more zones and take action if the marker so indicates. Systems, methods, and computer-readable media can cause a robotic vehicle to seek and identify a marker, then determine whether action should be taken based on a characteristic of the marker. If an action should be performed, the robotic vehicle can perform an action, and if no action should be performed, a determination can be made whether to seek another marker, move to another zone, or terminate the robotic vehicle's routine.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 2020Date of Patent: August 1, 2023Assignee: United Sendees Automobile Association (USAA)Inventors: Snehal Desai, Matthew Flachsbart

Patent number: 11505892Abstract: Sensor units that includes a power source, a communication interface, and a sensor coupled to the power source and the communication interface. The sensor is calibrated to connect the power source to the communication interface upon an occurrence of a condition in an appliance. The sensor, thereby, permits the communication interface to transmit data indicating the condition to a computing device. Methods, systems, and apparatus, for monitoring such sensor units.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 2020Date of Patent: November 22, 2022Assignee: United Services Automobile Association (USAA)Inventors: Matthew Flachsbart, Benjamin D. Patent number: 10831211Abstract: Methods and apparatus for operating a robotic vehicle. A sensor is positioned on the robotic vehicle to identify a first marker positioned in a first area within a space defined by a structure. Data is received from the sensor descriptive of one or more characteristics of the marker. A first instruction is identified corresponding to the one or more characteristics. The robotic vehicle is caused to change a physical orientation characteristic of the first marker and move to a second area within the space.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2018Date of Patent: November 10, 2020Assignee: United Services Automobile Association (USAA)Inventors: Snehal Desai, Matthew Flachsbart
