  • Publication number: 20080213574
Abstract: The present invention relates to the fields of chemistry and biology and more particularly to the field of biomaterials. The present invention includes amphiphilic fibers and membranes, which can be used for biomembranes and biocompatible devices. The present invention also relates to processes for preparing amphiphilic fibers and membranes from solutions comprising amphiphilic molecules. More particularly, the present invention relates to processes for preparing fibers and membranes from electrospinning solutions comprising amphiphilic molecules. The present invention further provides fibers and nonwoven membranes comprising amphiphilic fibers chosen from anionic surfactants, cationic surfactants, nonionic surfactants, phospholipids, sulfobetaines, lyotropic liquid crystalline molecules, and/or block copolymers.

  • Patent number: 6897273
Abstract: This invention relates to a process to polymerize olefin(s) comprising combining a solution, slurry or solid comprising one or more bulky ligand metallocene catalyst compounds, an optional support, and or one or more activator(s) with a solution comprising one or more phenoxide catalyst compounds, and thereafter, introducing one or more olefin(s) and the combination into a polymerization reactor. This invention also relates to a polymer of ethylene wherein the polymer has a density of 0.910 to 0.930 g/cc, a melt index of 0.3 to 2.0 dg/min, and a 15 to 35 ?m thick film of the polymer has a 45° gloss of 60 or more, a haze of 7% or less, and a dart impact of 600 g or more.

  • Patent number: 6372868
Abstract: This invention relates to a method to introduce multiple catalysts into a gas or slurry phase reactor comprising: (a) introducing one or more olefins and a first catalyst and an activator into the reactor and allowing the olefins to polymerize, (b) obtaining a polyolefin, (c) introducing a second catalyst and an optional activator into the first catalyst/activator composition and thereafter introducing the combination into the reactor and allowing the olefins to polymerize. This invention further relates to a method to introduce multiple catalysts into a gas or slurry phase reactor comprising: (a) introducing one or more olefins, a first catalyst and an activator, and a second catalyst and an optional activator into the reactor, wherein the all the catalysts and activators are combined together prior to being introduced into the reactor.
