Patent number: 12249874Abstract: An electric motor has a stator defining multiple stator poles with associated electrical windings, and a rotor having multiple rotor poles. The rotor has flux barriers between adjacent rotor poles, the flux barriers each having a material with an electrical conductivity higher than the rotor pole material. The flux barriers are electrically isolated from one another external to the ferromagnetic material. Eddy currents are induced in the flux barrier to cause destructive interference of an impending magnetic field, such that the flux barrier effectively acts to inhibit magnetic flux during motor operation, which in some cases will result in a repulsive force that will act to increase an induced motive force on the rotor poles.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 2023Date of Patent: March 11, 2025Assignee: Tau Motors, Inc.Inventors: Walter Wesley Pennington, III, Matthew J. Rubin, Gregory Gordon Stevenson, Adam Daniel Ambrecht, Euzeli Cipriano dos Santos, Jr.

Publication number: 20250073395Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an injection device for expelling of a number of preset or user-selectable doses of a medicament, the injection device comprising: an elongated housing extending along a longitudinal axis, and a rotatable member and a counterpart member each comprising a first mechanical code and a second mechanical code, respectively. For setting of a dose the rotatable member is rotatable relative to the housing and relative to the counterpart member. During setting of the dose the rotatable member is constrained along the longitudinal axis relative to the housing or relative to the counterpart member. For expelling of a dose one of the rotatable member and the counterpart member is displaceable along the longitudinal axis into an expelling position relative to the other one of the rotatable member and the counterpart member only when the first mechanical code is aligned with the second mechanical code.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 20, 2024Publication date: March 6, 2025Inventors: Andrew Gordon Wallace, Andrew Mark Lindsay, Georgina Millington, Matthew Meredith Jones, William Geoffrey Arthur Marsh, Anthony Paul Morris

Patent number: 12223110Abstract: A software defined button includes a force sensor and a haptic output element. The button further includes an immutable logic core and a mutable logic core. The mutable logic core is configured to define one or more thresholds against which input received from the force sensor can be compared to determine whether a user input has been provided. The immutable logic core is configured to verify actual force input has been received when the mutable logic core signals that user input has been received. In response to receiving a verified force input, the haptic output element can be caused to be driven by one of the mutable or immutable logic cores to provide a haptic output to a user.Type: GrantFiled: September 1, 2022Date of Patent: February 11, 2025Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Denis G. Patent number: 12182241Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable storage media for verification of identity of individuals based on images obtained by two cameras. A first stream of images of an individual are obtained from a first camera. Gamma correction is applied to images of the first stream of images. A second stream of images of the individual is obtained simultaneously with the first stream of images from a second camera, where gamma correction is not applied to images of the second stream of images. An identity of the individual is verified by providing the first stream of images and the second stream of images for independent automated matching with an authentication image. The authentication image is an image of the individual from a verified source.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 2022Date of Patent: December 31, 2024Assignee: IDEMIA IDENTITY & SECURITY USA LLCInventors: James R. Publication number: 20240005330Abstract: The likelihood of a successful transaction may vary according to associated variables (e.g., time of day, day of week or month, proxy or API used, etc.) and/or depending on the transaction route that is used. Accordingly, success rates may be generated for transaction routes using associated variables, which may be used to update rules relating to transaction routing. In addition, fault-tolerant routing may be used to ensure that a transaction ultimately succeeds even if a first or even a second transaction attempt fails. Rules may be used to ensure that customer guarantees are satisfied (e.g., that the transaction is completed on time or by a specified due date), that additional information is requested from the customer as needed (e.g., as may be required by an alternative payment method), and that the customer remains apprised of the status of his or her payments.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 29, 2022Publication date: January 4, 2024Inventors: Kelly Seidl, Matthew Gordon, Paul Cesario, Steve Kaufman, Sahan Jayasumana

Patent number: 11753164Abstract: The present disclosure provides a release launching system that is operative to receive and retain a drone or other payload in a protected launcher. The launcher helps to reduce the drag of the payload and to protect the payload from environmental factors. The payload is launched when a force initially separates the payload from the launcher and exposes a force generating mechanism. The force generating mechanism may be within the body portion of the device and generate an additional force to assist in separating the payload from the launcher. The payload may be launched using a biasing and fastening mechanism, which may include detachably coupling bracket, to allow for the separation of the payload from the launcher.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 2022Date of Patent: September 12, 2023Assignee: Anduril Industries, Inc.Inventors: Nicholas Robert Alley, Jesse Owen Williams, Matthew Gordon Brasher

Publication number: 20230257117Abstract: The present disclosure provides a payload deployment system that is operative to receive and retain a configurable payload. The payload deployment mechanism helps to reduce the drag of the payload and to protect the payload from environmental factors. The payload may be released using a hinge mechanism to ensure the payload does not contact the payload deployment mechanism when the payload is deployed. A vent may be utilized to equalize pressure between the external environment and a body portion of the payload deployment mechanism.
