Abstract: An eyewear case and packaging system is disclosed which includes an improved hang tab which permits the system to by displayed in a number of orientations and is easily removable in a tool-less manner to permit the packaging to be converted into a case. The improved hang tab includes at least one fastener which is dimensioned to be inserted through any one of a plurality of apertures in the case. The fastener is secured to the case via the interior by a retention member.

Abstract: An eyewear system includes a base and a plurality of lens inserts which are dimensioned and configured to be releasably retained by the base, and removable from the base without tools. The base may be at least partially recessed on a rear face to accommodate a lens insert. The lens insert may include a lens and a subframe, the subframe being configured to nestle within the recess of the base.

Abstract: A packaging assembly for a pair of eyeglasses. The packaging assembly includes: a front face, the front face comprising at least one front hanger opening and at least two eyeglass temple openings, and a fastening structure configured to restrict removal of an at least one eyeglass temple from the front face. The packaging assembly is configured to facilitate sampling of the pair of eyeglasses while engaged with the packaging assembly. The packaging assembly may include a back face connected to the front face; a cutout; and at least one security element. Furthermore, the fastening structure and at least two eyeglass temple openings may be cooperatively structured to dispose the pair of eyeglasses in a stored position in overlying relation to the front face. Additionally, the present invention relates to a packaging assembly that is practical—thereby permitting a user to effectively sample the pair of eyeglasses by trying them on.
